  • Tapering improves performance and doesn't actually impair the overall strength of the arm if it's done right. Same reason bowstaves are tapered. If you'll be competing you want every advantage you can get.

    I don't know what your rules are, but i've seen a guy throw half-pounders using a 1X2 for the core of his arm with 75 pounds of counterweight. I was using a 1X3 that was 30% air against him. We both hit over 200 feet into a wind. Both arms 5 feet long.

  • Two things I like: nice workmanship on the treb AND you are using it safely.

    The arm looks a little beefy for light projectiles, so if you want to throw light stuff far you might think about tapering or "swiss cheesing" this arm for lightness or making a lighter one.

  • @akitist im just playing with in the video but im going to be using heavier projectiles and more weight when im competing
