when i was little, they did a play version of the movie in Disney world and kids were chosen to be different characters. I remember belle asked me who i wanted to be and i said "i wanna be belle." and she made me be chip instead. ILL GET HER BACK SOMEDAY.
@kimmstrr26 it isnt shortened from anything as OnStage4ever520 said that in french Belle means Beauty and the movie takes place in France. I see why u would think that it was shortened but her name is Belle.

She's the one my family saw!
My cousin has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair, and this Belle gave her a big kiss and the necklace she was wearing. It was so sweet of her. :)
