Hmm...there is perhaps another problem here that I haven't seen anyone mention: this just doesn't work very well onstage. It was written as a movie and the transition from film to stage is much more difficult than vice-versa.

I already read about the problem with people not really being into it. But for god's sake, this is so stellar-ly bad, I can't even bring myself to watch the second part of the first act.

yeah... the set's nice, the acting's not bad, but why wasn't this better rehearsed?

@katwithoutagrin it's a senior drama class, so in general seniors take it to get out of a "real" english credit. so about 5 people in the cast actually wanted to be there.

May I also add that that the really weird instrument in My Freeze Ray is way too loud and REALLY, REALLY ANNOYING?

I'd have to say that bsnarski's was better. Though it wasn't as good as it could have been, it's WAY better than this.

As a devout lover of CRHS theater...I have to say that this got me so excited, I had no idea the drama they choose this year was Doctor Horrible...

...but I am DREADFULLY disappointed by how bad the theater troupe has become there. :(

its a seniors only class, so it's a new cast every year.

Out of an entire senior class, no one could sing? Then why was this play chosen?

only seniors who signed up for the class were in it, it counted as english class. our director really wanted to do the show. the only people who had sung before were penny, hammer, and one of the groupie girls.

ok...its a senior drama class that everyone takes to get an easy A for doing nothing to graduate. Did you honestly expect anything stellar?

I don't think Dr. Horrible's actor is really that bad, Sure, he could use a little work on those few flat notes, but I think a big part of the problem is the fact that there were vocal lines still in the song.

A note to Doctor Horrible: Your acting needs just a little work. Your singing, however, needs a lot. If you plan to pursue a career in musical theater, might I suggest a vocal coach? They work wonders :)

I'm glad how you were able to do a school play with this, i was wondering the same thing recently, but... I mean... articulation could have been better: maybe more practice could've tuned you better. Working out the kinks in the music would've been nice.

yeah, i know haha. unfortunately all of that comes with having a cast of people who have never acted or sang in their lives. we did the best we could with what we had.

Really, I'm the douche bag for giving these kids a little constructive criticism? Maybe that's what they need. Maybe twenty years from now, they'll all be famous, because they listened to my advice, that anyone in their right mind would give, and they'll thank me for it.

I've been in an actor all thirteen years of my life, and in the beginning, when no one gave me the big roles, it was because I sucked. Did I get upset? Hell no. I improved, and that's what these kids need to do.

Yeah I do Youtube videos, but that has nothing to do with my acting skills. I'm mostly a stage actor, and from what my peers tell me, I'm a damn good one.
