hey cam how r you doing ? long time no talk..hope everythings is going well as it should be..I was wondering what progam you use for this? Have a nice weekend mate !
Hey Eeco! Yeah been flat out, really busy! I just got into a music/jazz course this year so I'm having real fun doing that! I used Ulead Video 10 for this...quite a bit of fiddling around though!
I just played this today. WOW. My speakers almost fell on the floor! Cam, I feature your Dive Bomber on my channel page. You said you wished there was a boogie teacher in OZ....you don't need one, dude. You're the teacher yourself.
SO SWEET..........I feel so happy when I hear this number. =D
Thanks for featuring me on your page! And Thanks for your compliments... I would love to teach people to play boogie woogie one day, I just want someone else in oz to play with really! I'm so glad it makes you feel happy...it's what boogie woogie is meant to do - it's just happy blues! :)
Yeah this is one of my favourites too!! Ive done some budgeting recently and Im just cant afford to go to the festival :( Id need about $6000 to come from Australia! And I cant get a credit card because my income is not high enough and Ive already got a car loan :(
Sorry about that mate I really wanted to come & play with you! The only chance Ive got now is if I can borrow some money from my parents when they sell the house...we'll see :s
I'm doing my best to make it to the festival..I've just met the girl of my dreams in the last four months and we're planning on moving out together really soon...so life's great at the moment thanks mate!!! :D Not sure if I'll have enough money by the time the festival comes along..So I might have to look at getting a credit card or something if I'm going to go. I'll definately try my hardest! I'm looking for a better job too :)
Im doing good, busy with school too! :) I hope you can come man that would be awesome. We can play this song, I think that would sound great. Anyway let me know if you have any plans coming to the UK festival, take care bye Eeco
For the "neophytes"..there was Pete Johnson and Albert Ammons...LEGENDS! Their duets remain classics of the genre...we are blessed to hear and witness Eeco and Cam doing it justice, maybe better. OUTSTANDING!!!!
I lucked out and found myself a piano teacher. Going thru the yellow classified phone pages,I came across 4 teachers. The 1st 3 I called I said have you ever heard of Albert Ammons, and their reply was NO. I said to all 3,sorry you can't help me and hung up. But the 4th guy said yes and even has some of his cassett tapes. My heart skiped a beat and I was so happy to find someone that likes to play what I only want to play. I'm on my way.Hope it's not to difficult to learn.
I can't take it anymore. You 2 guys are killing me everytime I replay your video's. Although it's been over 60 years since I got the bug and have been trying to play it by ear,I just haven't been able to get as good as you guys. Since I have all the records & sheet music, but can't read it,I have finally decided to look for a good piano teacher that can show me how to play using all my fingers and how to read the sheet music.
I think you've just taken one of the biggest steps forward with learning to play boogie! One thing I remember about my classical piano lessons was how it helped immensely with my fingering, synchonisation and technical skills.
Well dont mate,It'll be the best thing you've ever done...
I'll try to post another one so you can join in Cam :D, at the end of this week I'll be in England for 4 days and yeah if we only had someone who could play the styl of Mead Lux Lewis, we would be complete :D
Yeah all we need is a bit of Meade...that would be awesome!
Have you noticed in 6th Avenue Express (the original) Ammons and Johnson keep alternating between foreground and background? So I think in this vid we're both playing some of Ammons' parts and some of Johnson's parts.
Yeah the only way you can tell is by recognising their different styles. When I realised what they were doing it only made me appreciate the song more and the skill they had! :D
Just a question, as long my idea sugested that was very necessay that one pianist first record his part, and the other recorded the second part listning to his partner recording, I'm curious to know who recorded first. Could you tell me? Regards. Beto Music
I see you worked my idea of virtual duet, like I posted in Terry Asspinal's page. Great wor. Maybe in next duet you can find a way to get the positions for both pianist's camera in a angle like I sugested. Great work. Sincerelly Beto Music.
Yeah I got my camera at the right angle but Eeco's wasn't because he did that video a long time before you suggested the angle thing. I will do the next duet in the same angle but you will have to remind Eeco to do the angle from the left of the piano.
I just like it at 1:47, oooh thats the most swinging part in the whole piece..cam we should do more of this..I'll post a video next week so you can add your style with it :d ok?
By the way Eeco please feel free to reply to anyone's comments and compliments on this video and any of our future duets as you are a big part of the video too!
I agree, I would love to do more of this. It was the most enjoyable and rewarding vid I've put together and would love to do it again thanks Eeco!

Great stuff Bob!! :D
I wish there was a boogie woogie teacher in Australia :(
It wont be too difficult just make sure you learn your scales and really train your hands to use multiple finger combinations with lots of exercises.
Actually it might be worth learning a few classical songs just to to get the technique.
