Personally I agree with you, this movie is pushing it for anyone under the age of 9 or 10 I think, I wouldn't let a 5 year old watch, but whatever. If someone saw it at age 5 or 6 in 1989, they may rationalize it's OK for their kids to see it today. Now I was 14 when I saw it in 1989, but I was not allowed to see the R rated, f bomb loaded original that came out when I was about 7 or 8. Again, that was my parents.
