  • Wow, Doyle Mcormack is a great actor!

  • remember kids. never park your car on the tracks. even if ur stealing a train

  • IS THAT DOYLE McCORMACK IN THE ENGINEERS SEAT?!

  • @jointlinerailfan Yes, that's Doyle McCormack.

  • its funny when the cops are shooting the locomotive with pistols, WTF is that going to do? stupid cops!

  • Interesting tidbit, btw - at one point in pre-production, UP #844 (at the time, numbered 8444) was considered to play the "Gold Coast Flyer"! (Found this out from the Railfan & Railroad Magazine article about the shooting of 4449 on "Tough Guys")

  • why would they shoot da front of a cast-iorn metal train? you ask BECAUSE THEY ARE IDIOTS!!!

  • @chuggafan5 Because they think they're shooting a freaking ship!

  • That smart ass probation officer needs to be violated and sent back to the pen!

  • @vomheinolf Not Richie Evans.. his boss.

  • Archie to the Uzi "Where were you thirty years ago?"

prpbably still on the drawing board lol

  • @Chase1609

yeAH MAN! ENGINE NUMBUH 4449 LOCOMOTIVE DAYLIGHT IS MY FAVORITE ENGINE!

  • -Vinny's been dead...since 1956!

    -Yeah.

-And we've been in prison since 1956.

-So i've been waiting since 1956....

    LMAO!!!! :)

  • "I'm Peter Pan, I've come to take you to Never-Never Land....and you ain't comin' back!"

  • I'm sorry, but I love Doyle McCormack's acting...."Mister, nobody robs trains anymore!" That, TO ME, was the best line in the whole movie!

  • You know that its a 1980s movie when you see cop cars passing a row of SP SD40s & SD45s

  • sweet brass ho scale 4449!

  • That's how the system works

    Well then the system sux!

  • Absolutely superb film.

  • It's Doyle at 107!

That is his girl he's driving there, must have been fun

  • What is this move?

  • Movie is called Tough Guys from 1986. Lots of really funny scenes in it. Hard to find, though.

  • I found it the first time I tried, but it was a rental, though.

  • I love Eli Wallach's subtle "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" reference".... I always see my job through. LoL

  • Lacaster & Douglas, Denior & Pacino

the ultimate double act. just too cool

  • I met both the engine and the engineer!

  • That leo guy apparently has the answers to evrerything.

  • One of my FAV. movies;...Funny and Damn did those guys have STYLE! Hope Im that style in 20-30 yrs...LOL!

  • The Movie makers weren't really stupid enough to shoot and risk a multimillion plus dollar piece of irreplaceable historical railroad equipment, were they?

  • Cause they always use real bullets in movies.

  • no they put a replica of the 4449 on a flat car

  • "I wanna get 100 of them copers"

    "theres only 50 Leon"

    "So?.......I'll shoot "em all twice"

best sequence of lines i've ever heard, lol

  • @douggoud That movie line is a classic makes me laugh every time i watch it!

  • I probably watched this movie 30 times when I was stationed in Italy in the early 90s. I have it on VHS.

  • hey why did'nt leo just shoot the officers and kill them then they would've been home free

  • Tough Guys was my FAVOURITE movie as a kid, must've rented it over twenty times!

  • can u put the whole thing on utube? the whole movie? plz? lol i just want to see it

  • Doyle McCormick Is The President Of The ORHF Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation He Is The Engineer And The Founder I Do Belive Any Other Information You Need I Know

  • well I DID! 26 GUYS! ... take note of THAT

  • Yea! Doyle McCormick is and/or was the engineer of The Daylight at the time. Haven't kept up, so don't know if he still is, or not.

  • I checked it out a while back, Doyle is still 4449's engineer.

  • @theUP844 He was it's engineer the longest, but Saddly he has passed away

  • @therubicon when did that happen.

  • @the1americanidiot I thought years and years ago.. I was under the impression after years of taking care of it he passed away... maybe I'm getting my conductours confused

  • Isn't the engineer the actual 4449 engineer/restorer???

  • Comment removed

  • This is awesome!!!!!!!! They should do that more often with the steamers that are left. I know theyd never actualy reck the real trains, theyd use computer effects.

  • Well, the two aging robbers wanted a "last hurrah", if you will... 4449 and the "Flyer" were on their last run anyways (in the movie)...

  • "maybe i should have brought the truck" ROFL

  • Doyle McCormack is the engineer with the gun pointed to his head . He is the man responsible for restoring the fine locomotive to operating condition back in the 1970;s.

  • I never thought I'd see Doyle in a full "engineers'" outfit!

  • heartless BASTARDS! Shooting the 4449!

  • ahh relax!! its only a movie!! lol they wouldn't shoot up the real beautiful 4449, would they? I'm not a Southern Pacific fan but a B&O fan, but I admire the 4449 because it is indeed a beautiful locomotive!!

  • The SP 4449 is a tough engine, plus those were fake bullets.

In the crash that was a fake locomotive made from fiber-glass.

  • They mostly shot up the combine instead of the engine...

  • Leon B Little: "I'm only going to get a hundred of them coppers."

Harry Doyle: "There's only 50 Leon."

Leon B Little: " So... I'll shoot them all twice!"

    LOL LOL

  • Leon B Little: "Surrender for wimps, I vote we die." LOL my favorite line in the whole movie haha!

  • Journalist [whispering]: "This guy's nuts!"

Leon: "DID I HEAR A WHISPER?!?!"

Love this movie. Sadly it's kept under the radar.

  • That's a shame...a year or so ago the bargain bin at my local cut-price department store had heaps of copies of it on DVD. Oh well, at least you have it now.

  • Stop blowin 'oles in my train!

  • cool M16A1s!!

  • Wow Doyle McCormick (4449 Engineer) looks really young in this movie.

  • He looks the same now as he looked in the movie.

  • It looks like hes thinking, "Oh God I'm Screwed!"

  • I'll bet he said his engine could be in the movie if he could star!

  • LOL this had the funnyest parts of the movie here! LOL thanks for putting this man. PLease put the whold movie my good man.

  • whats the name of the song at the end of the movie??

  • The name of the song is "Tough Enough" but I don't know who sings it.

  • I believe its the red hot chili peppers.

  • Fabulous Thunderbirds - Tuff Enuff

  • "I warn you, I know Karate."

"I warn you. I know Winchester!"

  • "I'm gonna get a hundred of those coppers. There's only 50, Leon. So... I'll shoot 'em all twice". :D

  • i can't believe they hired doyle Mccormack!

  • piece of cake!

  • This is what i would have did if i was the engineer. I would have hidding 45. in my jacket and when the fucker tried to take over i would shoot him. Then when the dude blocks the tracks in ettempt to kidnap 4449 i just world had run his ass over. my version of the movie would only last 15min lol.

  • I loved it when the detective shouted "What is this, the gunfight at the O.K. Corral?" If any of you are movie fans too, ironically Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas also starred in that movie together as well, LOL !!!!

  • does anybody remember the song that was sung by Kenny Rogers?? TIA..

  • "They Don't Make Them Like They Used To"

  • I love the "toot toot" at 0:09 :D

  • thats funny, Harry Doyle, ironic, because the owner of 4449 is Doyle McCommick

  • trainmaster844 how do you know so much

  • because i do....

  • lose the iron shit heads

  • LOOSE IT!

  • hahaha!

  • The daylight is one of the most beautiful locomotives around. No question. Absolutely fenominal locomotive :)

  • I like this version of the video because it allows you to see a wider shot of 4449 stopping before the car. I have the VHS version of the film and I can only see 4449's nose and pilot, but not the running gear, as shown at 0:37.

  • Broad Daylight... the engineer can see for 200 Yards... He's gotta stop!

  • yup, you are correct sir. what i love most about this movie. is that just because you are old. doesn't mean that you can still do stuff physically. and me being a train nut. it's cool to see steam being used in hollywood films. although. it would of been nice if they used the entire 16 car train. instead of three cars. thats kind of a rip off. but hey, it's still a great movie. and from what i have researched. burt lancaster had already experience in running steam locomotives.

  • The reason they used 3 cars was because they only brought down 5 cars. Those cars were the water canteen, the RPO "Yes Dear", the combine (facing the wrong way and formerly the crew car), a coach and the boat-tail observation car "Vija K.".

  • yeah, in "the train"

  • Cameo by Doyle McCommick, original engineer of the American Freedom train 1:04. The shots of the train moving again were great, I'd like to see that as either the 844, 3751, or the 3985. 4449 has made a mark in almost everywhere you could.
