No, that was the fire trucks with firemen in it. The APCs were carrying army men. A few of them were armed with rocket launchers. Infact, any video you see of supposed gas canisters or fireworks going off, those were actually rockets being fired at people. Even Axl Rose was shot at as he was leaving Donnington, by a rogue rioter with a custom built sniper rifle made out of a used condom and a disposable BBQ.

The riot was caused by a few drunk people and the security guards IMO. Security couldn't tell if people were battered or not so some drunk guy would tell a security guard to **** off and the security guard would start on him and the blokes mates would come over and then more security guards so it just grew and grew...

The atmosphere was so much more like Reading and Leeds where there have been problems though.. The fire in Blue with the gas cannisters and stuff..

It was at the entrance to the Black campsite. I know that the sign said Gold but if you look at the site map, the Gold site was the site over-looking the racetrack and the two stages. This footage was taken at the entrance to the BLACK site (where I was sound asleep in my tent at the time!!! christ).

Then they started a small fire which they were jumping over and throwing deodorant cans on it and they we exploding then the security came and put it out and they moved on and helped create the huge fire with the recycling bin
