  • too funny

  • im floating

  • I like your informal pictures. :) More fun than ho-hum steady tripod shots that we see waaaay too often.

  • Good job.

  • "Very Tasty" lol indeed!

  • @laughorgomad It's been a few years since I made this and just so you know, a couple of things have changed. Pink Teacup went out of business, then reopened in another (larger) location at 7th Ave South and Bleecker. Minetta Tavern was bought by big time restaurateur Keith McNally and it's now upscale, expensive and hard to get into, though I hear the food is really good.

As far as I know the other places are the same. Have a great time.

  • Loved this. Was sorry when it ended. Can't give a greater compliment than that.

You have so much enthusiasm for where you live and that's inspiring.

  • Want free tickets to an off-broadway, internationally acclaimed "psycho-comedy?" Check out '666' at Minetta Lane Theater. If you're into this video, you'll love 666 and its lewd, politically incorrect and hysterical clowning. Take a look at our videos and follow us on Twitter @666comedy for free tickets, more info and comedy news.

  • Well done. I can't find the words to describe just how nostalgic I feel after watching this.

  • beautiful job..

  • Very well-done video.

  • lol "very tasty"

  • Wow! We were at the Magnolia Bakery on a Wednesday afternoon in Sept. 08....and there wer 8 customers inside and no line. Guess we were lucky.

  • Lines form on the weekends. During the week it is normal except when the Sex and the City tourbus stops by - mid afternoons.

  • Very nicely done...

  • You don't know how much you miss NYC until you have been away for a long, long time.

  • thats true adamcrush i really miss NY and my friend too.

  • Top video, going ny this year cheers for the insight. This will come in usefull.

  • A wonderfull tour.

I was in the "Village" in february 2007 all the way from Amsterdam Holland.

    See you next year.

    Ruud Mulder

  • Thanks. I hope you had a great time.

  • Thattt was reeally coool! I miss New York TOO! And I haven' even BEEN there! xD ... Except for Albany, and Lake George~ But that's different.. thaatt's nott The City! This is really a treat for someone like me who hasn't experienced it yet! ..Can't wait to get to all your other tours herein! Taksa Mika}!:-P {licking chops!

    Care, Anni:)

  • Excellent job on these...and that's coming from a NYer

  • That almost looked like Eric Clapton. I'll be sure to check out a couple of the places you mentioned after I arrive there later today. Thanks for being so informative!

  • I really miss NY.

  • see you there

  • these type of vids rock fantasticbabblings cool.

  • Nice to the see the village on a beautiful sunny day. I try to get out there as much as possible even though I don't live all that far away (about a 45 minute train ride away).

  • It was an absolutely gorgeous day (last Saturday). Are you coming to the gathering?

  • Well, I would love to but I haven't posted any videos yet so I don't think people will know who I am.

  • Another awesome job my friend... I just finish a little piece on Seaside Oregon and I find myself playing to the visual and not providing near the information your tours do... But that's Pappy for ya eh... Won't be on much the next few weeks or months but I'll try to watch (vid explanation on channel) as much as I can... Take care of yourself Phil...

    Pappy Stu said it....

  • Thanks, Pappy Stu. I think if you can get the information across visually that's even better. When I'm not giving restaurant info, I try to stay quiet and let the pictues speak for themselves. I look forward to your Oregon videos.

  • Actually I think a blend of both are the most productive for these "docu-vids"...

  • I love these looks at your great city. But the 1,959 mile drive is a bit much for me LOL... That and I would have to live in the car for the entire time...

I do love to look threw your videos though.

  • Living in the car in NY is not a great thing. I hope you make it here some day.

  • The city of New York needs to hire you as a ambassodor . I never had the urge to visit New York before being from Chicago. But after your great Vidieo's , I can not wait to go, wheel chair and all . Thanks for a great seris

  • I hope you do get here. It is a great city, though often maligned. I've been to Chicago once, but I loved it and can't wait to get back.

  • I bet that gathering is going to be a blast! I used to live in CT and would ride the train into NYC. (that was a long time ago) Too bad I can't make the trip.

  • Too bad. I wish you could make it. I wish all YouTubers could come to NY. It's going to be fun.

  • You made this YouTuber feel like I WAS there! Bewteen you, and tlg847, and Zipster/TLRoth, I feel like a real New Yorker-East Coaster!;D

  • These videos always make me feel hungry, can't think why :). Thanks for sharing.

  • You should try making them. Every place I go to I want to sample.

  • You're making me miss my home town lol,

  • I wasn't born hear, but nearly 30 years and I think of it as hometown.

  • Yep, it is now

  • YES!!!! You included The Acme! Thank you, Phil! God, no trip to NY is complete without stopping in at The Acme. Your food series has been great--please keep them online so I can refer back to them whenever I'm next in New York. Bravo!

  • I have no plans to delete them. I hadn't been to the ACME in a while. Nothing has changed.

  • was that a freudian slip when you passsed the picture of the man very tasty

  • It was a cheap joke during editing :)

  • Six bucks for a sandwich is reasonable? Hmm...Interesting.

  • In New York City? You're damn right it is.

  • Right after I said that I was like "Duh! NYC."

Oh well. Can't be smart all the time.

  • Haha! Yes, everything is a bit more here.

  • If for no other reason, it is quite the tourist stop, and that's just the sort of thing you can expect.

And it may have something also to do with being a "blue" state, I don't know.

In any case, we love you New York, New York.

  • It's The Great Oz! (wink) Was that the Oscar Wilde Bookshop you passed?

  • I don't think I did, but did you see it?

  • Sorry, I looked again. Must have been mistaken. There is another bookstore there though;)

  • This one has a bit more porn. The OW is more high minded and literary, although I'm sure Oscar would have enjoyed the porn.

  • Once again, love it!

  • Thanks, Lanette. Are you coming to NYC in July so I can give you a hug?

  • Does John's still only serve at Dinner time? No lunch?

  • They're open at 11:30 am now, so you can get lunch. The menu is the same as dinner.

  • Great I like the tour videos I now know a lot more than I did about eating onthe cheap in NY and I can't wait to find out how to get arroud on the cheap in your next video. Thanks :)

  • At least when I make that one I won't eat so much!

  • thanks for the tour - i enjoyed your commentary. :)

  • Thank you very much for stopping by.

  • Wow, that was great, I really enjoyed it!!!

    Thanks

  • Thanks for watching.

  • Thanks Phil, this will be invaluable when I'm trying to figure out where to stuff my face...errr, get something to eat. :)

  • New York is a great place for face stuffing or fine dining. I have eaten at all of the places in this whole series. Some for years. The newer places I sampled before I recommended. Ah, the sacrifices I make for my viewers ;).

  • ROFL Yes I realize this has been a severe hardship on you that has taken it's toll mentally and physically, but I for one appreciate your hard work and sacrifice. Your tireless devotion to your subscribers. :)

  • Yep, New York is one of a kind

  • First!

  • First? Is that all you've got to say? First? No "Nice job, Phil" or even "You suck, Phil". Just "first'.

    Get back in the basement!

  • lol...i will attempt to say something a bit more substantial...

great video...but do new yorkers fit the stereotype of being a rude group of people?...or is that just a gross generalisation...

you know what...i would love to visit newyork and america in general but fear that i will be subjected to a little too much security attention for comfort:(

  • It is a gross generalization. It can be a tough city, but most of us are nice people. In parts of America you might attract attention, but New York is such an international city you would probably see many more people like yourself than you might imagine. Our local security is usually a bit more sophisticated.

  • i hope to visit one day (inshaallah, god willing)...contrary to popular belief, many muslims admire america (especially arabs) and see it as a great tourist attraction...especially hollywood and the big cities...also, i think the people are decent too in general, though i think you get aberrations everywhere you go...

have you ever been to london...how would NY compare (if you have been to london)...

  • Also is it anything like as dangerous as the movies make it out to be...

  • New York is the safest big city in America. Crime was bad for several decades, but it started improving in the late 80s - early 90s.

  • i guess this illustrates the gross exaggerations deployed by movies...however it is heart-warming to hear it is a safe city...also, i would just like to apologise on behalf of all the muslims for the 9/11 attrocity...i hope your city's resolve and unity is still intact and you guys are able to rebuild

  • I've never been, but my friend Zipster is there now and his friends are posting videos so frequently I feel like I'm there now.

  • Dammit, I thought I was being clever and original!

*mumbles "nice job, Phil, you suck, Phil" on the way back to the basement". Poop!

  • That's better. You can come back. You can stay up late, even.

  • Wow! You're watching me or what??? Stay up late?

YEAH! Why don't you go watch my 2 new videos Dr. Phil?

  • I watched your last three. All excellent. You're too smart to live in the basement.

  • Please let me go! I want to live in a dairy farm or on a golf course. I hate golf, but the grass is nice there. Of course, I don't smoke that stuff anymore. Can I have my fake Rolex back too?

  • That's a fake? Damn, it's good.
