There will be a judgment day, when all will be judged by God's standards and if we do not repent and have faith, we will perish in the lake of fire. God's love is that while we were yet sinners He died for us, but that doesn't cover all us with His love, we must react rightly, repentance and faith and then God regenerates us, declares us justified and then adopts us as His children. Then we get to to Heaven.

Sure, God is love. That is scriptural (and I do like the song overall), but I think the discussion here should be balanced. Check out David Platt's message here on YouTube. Psalm 5:6 says, God abhors the wicked. Yes, in some sense he loves everyone (John 3:16; Romans 5:8), but he also hates the non-believer in another sense (not just God loving the sinner and hating the sin. The Bible also says God hates sinners). We shouldn't overemphasize either point.
Yeah... I'm not sure it's so cut and dry though. If God hates a sinner right up until the sinner starts to learn to repent, how much does he hate the sinner? If God accepts the sinners, then I think it wasn't the sinner as a person that was the issue, but characteristics about the sinner's behavior.
I guess that's the center of the issue: it's about behavior and belief to God.
@LettheNationsBeGlad Ahh that's not necessarily true. In proverbs Solomon talks about the seven things God detests. These are what God abhors, not the sinner. God was the one that created the sinner just as you and I. So it's not the sinner that God hates, but the sinful acts he/she commits.

Sure, God is love. That is scriptural (and I do like the song overall), but I think the discussion here should be balanced. Check out David Platt's message here on YouTube. Psalm 5:6 says, God abhors the wicked. Yes, in some sense he loves everyone (John 3:16; Romans 5:8), but he also hates the non-believer in another sense (not just God loving the sinner and hating the sin. The Bible also says God hates sinners). We shouldn't overemphasize either point.

Yeah... I'm not sure it's so cut and dry though. If God hates a sinner right up until the sinner starts to learn to repent, how much does he hate the sinner? If God accepts the sinners, then I think it wasn't the sinner as a person that was the issue, but characteristics about the sinner's behavior.
I guess that's the center of the issue: it's about behavior and belief to God.

@LettheNationsBeGlad Ahh that's not necessarily true. In proverbs Solomon talks about the seven things God detests. These are what God abhors, not the sinner. God was the one that created the sinner just as you and I. So it's not the sinner that God hates, but the sinful acts he/she commits.

@6production9 I agree with you, these ignorant Christians are stuck in a time where conclusions were made based off no real evidence. They refuse to accept modern day science and facts but get mad when we refuse to not accept beliefs from a book that has countless contradictions and was written before carbon dating and radioactive dating was around to tell us the earth is actually over millions of years old and not created in a week by an imaginary character..

@Floortilecrocodile I'd simply like to throw out there that science and the Bible don't contradict. In fact, the rather compliment each other and are two faces to the same coin. I simply think we don't take the time to delve into either deeply enough to find that they don't oppose each other, but simply are looking at the same phenomena of existence through two lenses.

@raulthejewban Though I'm not sure of Einstein's beliefs, he did once say "Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." That is...assuming Christianity is a religion, but I firmly believe that our faith shouldn't be relegated to something as baseless and man-made as 'religion.' Our faith in God is a direct consequence of a personal relationship with him. But I agree, there is no rift between science and the Bible.

@6production9 no it's actually not a sin to push religion. That's not even close to a sin. I'm a Christian, but I'm also really well rounded. I've read almost every religious text to nine different religions, and I'm currently reading on the founding principles of atheism and evolutionism. I feel, and so does Jesus, Bhishma, Mohammed and Bhudda, that understanding and accepting one another is the key to peace in our world. God is love man, God is love:)

@CowsCanCook I know I have no place in your conversation with @robertbuick1. But your comment struck me, for I am an Evolutionist and I get messages daily to switch to Christianity. I have not seen a single Atheist nor any other non-believer push to switch religion(Besides the few tards out there..). By the way, is it not a sin to push religion on people?
