i have a problem with the official characters pack...ive added characters in the right way and when i start the game i play as thor,wolverine,spiderman and captain america..when i make it to the first access point and change team i can see some characters like silver surfer but others like sabretooth,hulk etc. are not visble..their names appear above where their characters are supposed to be..but the game crashes when i try to select them..

Heroselect is easier to me. All you have to do is dowload the character then put the characters herostats in the heroselect.cfg then add the characters name to the program by adding the name and heroselect.cfg then pick who you want and your good to go.;)

Well now that I finally got it to decompile and edit, now it won't compile back into an engb nor xmlb file. The black prompt box flashes by quickly without me even pressing enter and says that it's done making the file, but there is no file in the destination folder. I've done this several times...nothing.

Hey, Frankie, I have a problem. When I run the decompile from xmlbcui program and then go to edit to open the notepad where it has all the herostat data, there is no data there. I'm talking about the part of around 3:10 seconds on your video. It opens up an empty notepad. Nothing is there. I can't do anything with that. Do you know why this is? @milesfromme put the herostat in your desktop and use the xmlib thingy i had the same problem but when ur done replace the herostat with the one in data folder

Its either the disc is scratched/broken/etc or you have the dvd version trying to play in a cd drive.

You have either not added the files or herostat correctly or you need to start a new game.

important note: do not overwrite the first 4 characters in the game (Thor, Spiderman, Captain America, Wolverine) Your character will not appear in the game and will be one of the other characters, minus the abilities. Your game will also crash if you try to select the character from the shield points.

First in Xmlbcui you have to click file and choose "Decompile" and browse to and choose "herostat.engb" from the Data folder in your main Marvel ultimate allaince folder after that you should get a box saying "run edit to view generated source" then click Edit and you will get the text file which you add characters to.

With this way you have to decompile and add a character every time you want a new one but with heroselect you can just add as many characters as you want in a text file and then choose your 27 characters and play.

In the end it is easier to use heroselect.

The character limit is 27 soyou have to replace a original with a modded character unless its a empty space.

Make a copy of any files that are important so you can use them again latter if you need to.

If you dont backup files the only way to get them back is to reinstall the game or go to the marvelmods site and see if anyone will give it to you.
