1975! WOW.......these times are sorely missed. If TIna had big mammories she would have been a a bigger megastar than she was! Her eighties stuff was not as good as this.
Ike Turner may have had some..eeh..attitude problems, but you can´t take away that he was a musical genious. Way too underrated in rock´n roll I think.
my dad told me all about tina, ike & particularly, the ikettes. what happened to the ikettes after the breakup? did they go with tina, ike or just quit?
That Ike guy is freaking me out because he took so many drugs, that he was so dangerous for everyone. Even Tina admitted that Ike was so dangrous that if you say a word to him, you wouldn't even know what he's going to do to you or say next. That's how Tina left Ike quickly in 1976 to hide from him.
No matter what may have been going on in Tina's life throughout her career, she ALWAYS looks like she's having an absolute blast when she's on stage!! I love this woman!!
i love tina turner :) there are a few songs i like from her days with ike, too, and this one's one of em. by the time she recorded this one, she was nearing the end of the road with that monster. one would never guess by looking at her onstage like this of the tormented life she led. a survivor and a heroine....
Don't think I've seen any clips of this song performed live before...wasn't this their last single? Ike looks terrible...amazing that he lived another 30 years.
I love this song, this is one of the best songs in there catalog.Ike and tina turner split up shortly after this tune was recorded,we all know why they split up.Domestic violence.
This song would have been a bigger hit, if Ike would have left all the singing to Tina! As smart of as he was in 'inventing' their sound and style, he missed the mark on this. His voice was not good, unless doing short bass lines, like in "Proud Mary."
This was when I became a Tina fan, I remember seeing her on the TV for the first time when I was about 12 and I was blown away! And she still is fantastic!
This was the last charted hit for the duo, Tina left shortly after this song was released. I think the excitement at the beginning was Tina, - really into chanting and coming into her own and ready to leave Ike. "This is my last damn song with him and I'm gonna leave .
You're right. Tina was really coming into her own by this single's release in June 1975. They would go on to release "Delilah's Power" in October 1975, but it didn't chart. Tina also released "Acid Queen" in January 1976, but that didn't do anything either.
Hot Hot Hot. This was Tina at her best coming into her own, knowing who she was as a woman and performer and that she could do it without Ike. You can see the confidence and energy in the performances just before she finally left.
Who are you telling?! If you look at footage of them from 1974-1976, you will see that he had that similar outfit in different colors. He would usually match with Tina, like in the "Delilah's Power" footage from November 1975.
And to think that they were able to deliver this level of a performance on a song that only reached #88 Pop and #31 (or so) R&B. This song wasn't even that big of a hit and they still gave it everything they had!
Great performance. Tina showing out at her best. I love the Ikettes. They were like Hype Girls before there was rap lol. No artist can ever come close to the original Tina Turner.
Thanks for your response! It's great, isn't it?! I really like the dance Tina does in the beginning :). Indeed, no artist can ever come close to Tina ;)! Btw, I really like your Tina video's! Thanks for puting them up.
I like the jumping up and down too! This was taped right before the single was released. After a few more months of performing the song, they eventually changed the arrangement of the song a bit as well as the choreography.

Behind the scenes he was a nasty piece toward her, but musically they were THE best to have ever graced the recording industry.
Tina was formidable on her own, but the duo known as Ike and Tina, to me, is definitive.
Pity I'm a gen-X'er and two generations too young to be legitimate, I'm supposed to like Madonna, Amy Winehouse, and Britney, right?
