  • It doesnt matter how many people can get on a plane if the plane has 1.issues 2.needs special gates 3.is built in a recestion 4. is built so that only large airlines can afford it 5. so that it can only fly long hauls and 6.it has competition froma 787 do to start flying commercial routes this coming January also the 787 will be sold to all kinds of airlines not just national airlines and is very fuel effecient in a unstable market

  • Nothing beats the Boeing 747.

  • 6:30 Nothing is cooler than a SOCCER JERSEY on an AIRPLANE

  • Is it really a good idea to be carrying this many people around on a single plane though? If the plane crashes, you're talking a HUGE death toll!

Also, I thought the 747 could hold over 500 people?

  • @LiamC123321 In a one class config the 747 can hold over 550, but then again the A380 can carry 850! I don't think anyone wants it to crash, well maybe Boeing, but it was the same story when the 747 came out and people still bought into that.

  • will it be big enough for me?

  • Engineering Studies

  • i would have loved to see the dubble buble that would be speaciel

  • too bad one of their engines blew up haha!

  • Qantas' A380 failed twice. One on landing (brake caught fire) one on flight (engine explosion)

  • didn't airbus crash at the first airshow in the 1980's?

  • "will the worlds biggest passenger airliner survive its maiden flight?"

well, as long as it's not named Titanic...

  • And again, Airbus wants to go fast, In 40 years we'll have a mach 5.3 cruising 100 000 feet high flyer 1000seater... powered by liquid Hydrogen, whilst boeing wants a slower mach 0.65 but silenter aircraft 600 seater...

Great I'd go for that first one ; )

  • Airbus is better then boeing imo.

  • i like the 747, I dont think we need such a big plane.

  • @darkcamry The 747 is an ok plane...

but air travel needed bringing in to the 21st century!

The 747 is now DECADES old.

  • @Tommiclio i no a lot of pll going to complain about this but i dont think a380 looks safe. After all they have many crashes more than boeing. (i think)

  • @darkcamry I dont know bout that. All I know is that Airbus have developed 2 of THE most iconic planes .Sure the 747 is a nice craft, but its out of date, the design, the capability. Its only down to technology that the 747 manages to keep up to date.Airbus are the only company to successfully design, develop and fly a supersonic passanger airliner. The air bus A380 only looks a bit out of place right now because it MASSIVE and will take a while for people to see it common place just like the 747

  • @Tommiclio i see

  • @Tommiclio Sorry, but Airbus Industries NEVER DEVELOPPED a supersonic liner...

  • Still an ugly looking plane like the rest of the AIRBUS planes..no offense.

  • @pogpog28 Well you're american, You think Rosie O'donnel is good looking!

  • Go Europe...Put those dumb ass Americans into more shame...

  • The 747 and Concord are real legends no doubt. One is the most famous plane in the world and one was the quickest and is to this day

  • 'their baby is flying' aww i like it , beautiful.

  • That's an ugly bird right there.

  • A380's 1st flight is 30 years after 747's 1st flight. It is normal that it is more efficient, more soundproof, more confortable, more secure, ...

I will be happy to fly onboard one of a380s - especially if it is one of the A380s with bath and shower cabins offered from Emirates airlines

  • The airline industry is all about moving numbers at the lowest possible cost. A380 is still the best aircraft in existence for this purpose. With an average fuel consumption of around 363 liters per passenger, the A380 easily beats the 787-9 by a margin of about 90 liters per passenger (over its max theoretical range).

  • Only a few airports can accommodate such a large plane, the wingspan is too long for most airports right now. The 747-8 will out due this aircraft until airports grow larger.

  • also the a380 is too heavy for many runnways The runnways have to be fortified to hold it , the 787 will definately be more common

  • @shqipe1996 accually that is not true, because the A380 as more a larger wheels than the 747 (not 787) its weight is spread over a much larger distance so the weight of the aircraft is of no concern!

  • yes but a larger runway is needed, also i was talking about the 787 vs A380 since they were both made to save fule

  • lol they act like on the first test everyone is biting their nails since there is only a 50/50 chance it won't crash immediately. and the spruce moose was the best plane ever.

  • and my video...

  • @Twinman2 *Plane drops from the sky*

  • @DIMATIF emo

  • @MrEiriku How am I an emo? You have no proof. The world will never know :O

  • @DIMATIF you are emo because you cut yourself

  • @MrEiriku FYI I only fall over... RARELY.

  • @Twinman2 punch yourself

  • @Twinman2 Time to take your Ritalin, kiddo.

    The REAL question

Q: The Airbus A-380... WILL IT BLEND?

  • @Twinman2 Exactly right!!! What did they think was going to happen?? "Oh well, we have designed the biggest plane EVER, spent millions, but we are not really sure it might possible take off?" I'll hold them while you punch them!!

  • i hate these documentaries that pose a million rethoric questions. they spend most of their time asking "will this huge plane fly" or "will customers need it"... YES you fuckin idiot!!!!

  • @robbiinca Yes - it's peculiarly British "techno-angst" - comes from reading too many tabloids.

  • why is it that it only costs a third of a billion to build one of these things yet Nasa needs a hundred billion dollars to land a few people on the moon again? it costs 300 times as much to land a few people on the moon than it does to build an airbus? come on man thats pathetic.

  • any technology that must fly at escape velocity has to be expensive.airbus is hardly comparable to a spacecraft...

  • are you serious?

  • Airbus has a huge challenge Boeing has been making the 747 for centuries I just think in these hard times the 747 will come out on top

  • @mattmopar440 It's already obsolete - the 747-8 is going to murder it on the bottom line. Despite still being a 747, it's really a new airplane in terms of efficiency and systems integration. The A380 cannot be made in numbers large enough to serve as freighters, and as airlines upgrade from 747-400s to 747-8s, a large number of 747-400s will be around for cargo operations - meaning that the A380F freighter version has a dismal future.

  • @mattmopar440

    absolutely..

  • people are losing confidence in Airbus over the massive delays over the A380

  • Airbus A380 is an european plan proud to be in EU .

  • Best joint effort ever

  • Comment removed

  • Man all I am gonna say is this has given airlines an awesome opportunity to get one of the best seat layout for the first class!!! A380 is the future!!! Time for Queen of the Sky (Boeing 747) to sleep around the produce some babies lol.

  • I have faith in the 747-800 to take over the A380.

  • NO!! don't kill andrea bocelli!!

  • Europe take the control of the sky which never mustd lost

  • this is why i wanna be a piolot

  • ok...now be realistic..can the a380 fill all its 550 seats with passengers??!!...in one flight??!!!!!!

  • It can and the biggest A380 version can hold just over 800 passengers

  • It actually can, but not today because air travel has gone down considerably. All economy can fit more than 800 passengers. However, I'm sure not many people want that to happen because baggage claims must be an extreme headache!!!

  • Thanks for posting, though these recent docos seem to be getting more and more like music videos :-/

  • fat, but really cool

  • Fat airbus.

  • fat, but really cool

  • Fat, but more space for passengers.

  • Great video, keep posting more videos about the latest in aviation.Thank you

  • I thought there were 24,000 airports in the world.

  • dont trust too much to numbers of FSX.

  • that can't be right because there is about 200 countries in the world and each one has at least 3-4 airports, unless it is in a 1st world country so 4,000 airports is about right, if there were 24,000, there wouldn't be anwhere for people to live!

  • each country has 3-4 Airports? hmmmm No it doesnt.

  • that is just on fsx i think some of them are just an airstrip

  • Thanks alot for the info!
