Barbara walters is a tired old idiot , I have lost all respect for her. her freaking co stars are fucking laughing at that moron when she's on the phone
Women have breasts to feed their offspring, ask any doctor, they are not for men (or other women if that's the way you swing) to play with. I breast fed my children, in public, but always with a nursing blanket over my children. Most of the time, people had no idea that I was feeding my child. I'm not a liberal, I'm a mommy who fed my child the way I felt was right. spitzbully, would you like to eat food in a public restroom? why should any child?
FYI everybody: If you ALL spam this little shit and give him thumbs down, He'll disappear. He only wants to see his shite up on the screen. Deny him that and don't even bother to argue and he'll crawl back into the troll-hole he came from.

Jimmy Kimmel is in the wrong and Barbara Walters is right, breastfeeding publicly does make people feel uncompfortable. Whatever happened to some good old fashion common sense?
Can't we support mothers with whatever method they use to feed their babies? I'm not a bad mom because I bottle fed my sweet babies! Of course breast milk is best! But to the lactivists who offer unsolicited statistics & self-righteous comments to a mother innocently trying to nourish her child with a bottle, suspend your judgment until you know her story. We must treat ALL our sisters with compassion, make sure the facts are out there, & be thankful that it's 2008 and we have options!

Stay at home and feed the little puke. Don't subject the rest of the world to your "proud accomplishment." You just want to push it into our faces because you think it's "special." You want to flash tit legally because you get off on it. You want the attention and the controversy.
I'm surprised that Barbara Walters, a woman, would have a problem with breastfeeding and would be uncomfortable with it. You don't have to look....just sayin'.
You don't need to say that most states protect your right to breastfeed. What you are doing is feeding your child. You don't have to have a law to say that's ok. I think that people need to remember their own human rights and stop making excuses. People who are against breastfeeding in public will have to deal with it. I can't wait until the law is upheld in a meaningful way in our country and the human rights violators aka bigots are held accountable for the harm they've done.
I agree. Did you know that most states have laws stating that women have the right to breastfeed, but there are no consequences written in those laws for establishments that kick women out or oppress women for breastfeeding. It says we can, but doesn't give consequences to those who oppress.
I have never seen a place in a restroom where there is a place to breastfeed and I have been all over the country since my husband is in the Navy. Obviously you are very pig-headed and you are just going to go on offending people just like Barbara Walters did no matter what I say. I'm not the stupid and callow one here, you are.
You are being insulting by being bigoted towards women who breastfeed their babies. I am just going to continue breastfeeding my baby, it is the best for her health and for mine, whether I'm in public or not. People like you are just going to have to deal with that because you cant stop us, we have the law protecting us (in most states).
I think she's completly right. I think it's disrespectful to just pull your breast out (especially in a confined place where you paid to be able to sit wherever) and let your child have at. It's one thing to put a blanket or a cover over, but god damn, how freaking rude does a person have to be to start flashing people, for what ever reason.
And no, for the love of god, formula is not junk food. Don't be ignorant.
Would you rather sit next to a screaming infant the entire flight? It is not like a woman threw open her shirt and jiggled her breasts in her face! She was simply feeding her child. Also do you like to eat with a blanket over your head? I didnt think so!
not all babies need or will drink from a bottle, plus why put up with the fuss of having to keep a bottle cold and risk it going bad when you have perfectly good milk already with you, are you saying the baby doesnt notice the blanket? You would notice a blanket over your head wouldnt you? Why wouldnt a baby? My kid hates it when I tried to blanket over her she just throws it around like a toy.
Well I'm curious if you even have any experience with parenting or breastfeeding (be it yourself or someone you know)? It sure doesnt seem like it. It also seems you dont even know what the meaning of logic is. I think it is more important to attend to your baby's needs rather then worry about what everyone around you is thinking about you.
I just think it's bad to flash people in public, which is basically what you are doing when you pop your breast out in public. It is, by the way, illegal to do so. If you want to breast feed you have to cover yourself up or go into the restroom to do so. Also, you really want your child, toddler/child/preteen, flashed by some random woman just because she decided to bring a private act to the public.
Actually it is not illegal to breastfeed. The majority of state have laws protecting woman from getting charged with indecency if they are breastfeeding. Now if I go around and I dont have a baby or I'm not breastfeeding and I flash myself, then sure arrest me. But if I am feeding my baby I have every right to do so.
Why should I feed my baby in a restroom? That is gross! I dont eat in restrooms, do you? If my child saw a woman breastfeeding I would explain it to her, as that woman is feeding her baby. Which is a much different conversation then if a woman was walking around without her shirt on.
Urinating is a different thing completely, that is 'eliminating waste' and we have created places to do that in (restrooms). It would be nice if businesses and even airlines maybe had an area for breastfeeding mothers to go to, but since the majority dont and we dont feed babies where people also go to the bathroom we have to feed our babies in public. It is people like you that make it hard for breastfeeding women to be accepted. It is discriminatory.
My child and I have every right to go out in public just like everyone else and if she happens to get hungry while out, I'm going to feed her! If you have a problem with it, you go eat in the restroom or eat with a blanket over your head!!! You also dont need to educate me with your definitions, I have a college degree and have taken my fair share of philosophy courses which I have gotten A's in BTW - no that I need to really justify myself to someone who obviously holds bigoted ideals.
Bigoted, right. That's why I haven't felt the need to insult anyone but you jump all over me. I never asked for opinion, you decided to shove it in my face.
If the way I eat involved sucking on some sort of private body part I would take it in the restroom as it is rude to show privates in public.
Huskers008...breastfeeding belongs in bathrooms because its more sanitary for bathrooms than in restaurants where people are trying to eat. Excreting bodily fluids does in fact contaminate eating food supply and is a biohazard. We could endup with a major class action lawsuit on places like McDonalds or Applebees if customers get sick or food poisoining all because we forget that natural equates to indecent exposure
How do you know I'm a democrat? Actually, I'm more of a moderate. I'm not even sure what this has to do with being a democrat, republican,or whatever.
Well the social liberal mindset are all about embracing nudity in public. Liberals are the king of this kind of behaviour. And once nudity becomes the social norm, then soon legistlation gets past to where it becomes legal. So yeah all this public breast chaos has become a political issue with democrats condoning it and republicans opposing it and fighting against legistlation
im sorry you are so misinformed on this subject. if someone chose to drink unpasteurized cows milk in public, would you call it a biohazard and send them to the bathroom?! ridiculous. and i dont think ppl get sick or food poisoning from what some ignoramuses consider "indecent exposure." when you grow up, i hope you wont force your children to eat their meals in a bathroom! theres nothing unsanitary about breastfeeding. i think thats the lamest anti bf arguement ive heard yet!!!
What an idiot liberal you are to compare an adult who eats in public to a newborn breastfed infant who eats in public. Breastfeeding is a natural bodily function like urinating which is why it needs to be taken in bathrooms. The reason why i wouldnt eat in a bathroom because i eat civilized with a silverware and not through natural sexual private parts. Anyone who cant eat in a respectful manner with a silverware needs to eat in bathrooms so it wont affect business in restaurants
You are equating breastmilk with urine? Do you understand how flawed that argument is? Breastmilk is one of the safest sources of food available- we feed it both to infants and critically ill adults. Mammals instinctively know not to eat where they eliminate, to ask a mother to feed her child on a toilet is to ask her to go against what is natural. The saliva of your chef is more dangerous than breastmilk.
Nicolamonk...do you not understand what a naturally bodily function is?? We do not, and i MEAN NOT excrete our bodily fluids in public or public establishments. Show some decency for crying out loud; its down right unsanitary and belongs in a bathroom or at home. Natural does not EQUAL= doing it on every street corner. Natural process functions are unsanitary and needs to be conducted in bathrooms where it wont gross people out
Oookay??? I thought this was about breastfeeding not exposing oneself. Before you say anything, I've seen more exposed flesh at the beach or on women wearing lowcut tops. If you are so offended by the sight of breasts, feel free to launch a campaign against cable tv, GQ mag, Cosmo, Maxim, etc, and leave nursing moms alone. Hmm, I didn't know breastmilk was unsanitary. All these years I thought it was healthy, safe, and nutritious. Hmmmm...
Natural ehh?? how about if i am in the same eating place as you and i drop my pants down so i can expose my private parts right in front of you and your kids so i can urinate or masturbate?? Hey its natural too, lets allow women to unbutton their blouses in public and showoff their tits :::sarcastic:::

They have to suck, to equalize the pressure in their ears. And no, a pacifier/dummy won't do it, as they have to suck and swallow in order for their ears not to hurt for the entire flight.
I'm afraid you lose, Barbara! Nice try, but next time try engaging your brain BEFORE engaging your mouth!
If a young woman was flashing her breasts at me to beg me to loan her money to get breast implants, I'll complain. But if she was breastfeeding her baby, I'll have no objections at all.
