Women have breasts to feed their offspring, ask any doctor, they are not for men (or other women if that's the way you swing) to play with. I breast fed my children, in public, but always with a nursing blanket over my children. Most of the time, people had no idea that I was feeding my child. You don't need to say that most states protect your right to breastfeed. What you are doing is feeding your child. You don't have to have a law to say that's ok. I think that people need to remember their own human rights and stop making excuses. People who are against breastfeeding in public will have to deal with it. I can't wait until the law is upheld in a meaningful way in our country and the human rights violators aka bigots are held accountable for the harm they've done.

I agree. Did you know that most states have laws stating that women have the right to breastfeed, but there are no consequences written in those laws for establishments that kick women out or oppress women for breastfeeding. It says we can, but doesn't give consequences to those who oppress.

not all babies need or will drink from a bottle, plus why put up with the fuss of having to keep a bottle cold and risk it going bad when you have perfectly good milk already with you, are you saying the baby doesnt notice the blanket? You would notice a blanket over your head wouldnt you? Why wouldnt a baby? My kid hates it when I tried to blanket over her she just throws it around like a toy.

I just think it's bad to flash people in public, which is basically what you are doing when you pop your breast out in public. It is, by the way, illegal to do so. If you want to breast feed you have to cover yourself up or go into the restroom to do so. Also, you really want your child, toddler/child/preteen, flashed by some random woman just because she decided to bring a private act to the public.

Actually it is not illegal to breastfeed. The majority of state have laws protecting woman from getting charged with indecency if they are breastfeeding. Now if I go around and I dont have a baby or I'm not breastfeeding and I flash myself, then sure arrest me. But if I am feeding my baby I have every right to do so.

Urinating is a different thing completely, that is 'eliminating waste' and we have created places to do that in (restrooms). It would be nice if businesses and even airlines maybe had an area for breastfeeding mothers to go to, but since the majority dont and we dont feed babies where people also go to the bathroom we have to feed our babies in public. It is people like you that make it hard for breastfeeding women to be accepted. It is discriminatory.

Huskers008...breastfeeding belongs in bathrooms because its more sanitary for bathrooms than in restaurants where people are trying to eat. Excreting bodily fluids does in fact contaminate eating food supply and is a biohazard. We could endup with a major class action lawsuit on places like McDonalds or Applebees if customers get sick or food poisoining all because we forget that natural equates to indecent exposure
