  • I still like Gerald butler more. I can imagine becoming possessed by his voice, and he has a ton of more emotion when he sings.

  • I personally love both casts! Both Micheal and Gerard sing this song in a sexy, steamy way

  • Michel crawford = awesome

    BUT

    Gerard butler = F*ckin amainzing

  • There is no other recording worth listening to. They were PURE PERFECTION! Love the redub reediting. Thank you!

  • michael crawford amazing voice no doudt about that this song and music of the night AMAZING uh but sarh brightman i dont thinks so

  • great job

  • lol @ the "you HAAAAAAVE" it sounds so funny with gerard's face

  • piękne :)

  • God, I love Gerard Butler, but there is something so hypnotic and sensual about Michael Crawford's voice. I love him! :D

  • god sarah sounds like a fusion of carlotta and smeagol

  • The orchestrations for this song (movie version) are so beautiful, I don't think Gerard did them justice. If the movie had a better singer than Gerry, the song would've been even more impactful. Anyway...

    Awesome synching! It's perfect.

  • Is her mouth physically impossible to close? Why is it always open, in every single scene?

  • And just to clarify, Sarah's singing with so much vibrato because Christine is still under the impression she's in the OPERA.

Would you sing like Emmy Rossum if you were PERFORMING in an OPERA?

    Sarah's way more convincing.

  • Interesting. Although Sarah's voice tends to get on my nerves. Bless Gerard Butler's heart. He's an incredible actor. And, considering that he'd never had any training up until that point, did a good job with songs that are not all that easy to sing for a professional. But the Phantom will always be Michael Crawford for me. And we won't even get into the Steve Barton vs. Ponytail Raoul debate. Well done on the vid. The synch was really good.

  • when will the flames at last *consume us*? ER rocked that line and u all know that on some level!!!

  • hahaha! dude, that's my favorite part of the song! lol!

  • I completely agree. That one line is dripping with emotion. My favorite part of the song, hands down.

  • yeah...and listen to Rebecca Caine's version (Original Canadian Cast). at the end of that line and after the final "we've passed the point of no return", she gasps like she has either fainted from pure passion (unlikely for the 1st line as she continues for the duet part, but anything's possible for the 2nd, cos Emmy Rossum fainted in Gerard's arms at that point [sort of]. no one can touch either of the original recording casts...

  • *drools while listening to mc's voice*

  • 2004 POTO sounds betterrr....that's my opinion... knock it down if u want but i like it better

  • I HATE Emmy Rossum with a purple passion.

  • I was enjoying that, why'd you stop there?

  • Wow, this is so cool, MC and SB are great!!!!

  • can u try and do a version of this song with Gerald Butler and Sarah Brightman??? it would be quite interesting lol

  • EMMY AND GERARD ALL THE WAY!!

  • Thank you so much for putting this on! I personally love Sarah and Michael's voices 1000x more than Emmy and Gerard.

  • KUDOS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wonderful! I love it when people put the OLC (or OBC depending on your veiws ha) to the movie. Michael (imo) is the best Phantom, vocally and physically. Gerry doesn't have a spot in my top 10, so.. yea. MC had the passion and emotion, whereas Gerry just, eh, wasn't quite the right fit. But, then again, I like them both. Good job, by the way :D

  • thankyou

  • I personally think that Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman did a much better job singing this so I was totally elated to stumble upon this video with MCs and SBs voices in it. Thank you so much "nekidspaceman". I also saw Michael perform this live onstage as well as watching the film once and if anybody has watched several of the "PONR" videos with Michael Crawford they would honestly have to say Michael contained much more passion then the film version did.

  • you're welcome. have you seen the other ones i did?

  • I personally think that Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum did a better job

  • I personally think that you are an f'ing idiot, Dreamsent. Gerard Butler couldn't even hit the notes, much less hold them. Watching Emmy R. is like watching the role being played by Judge Judy. She's so wrong for the part, and her singing is mediocre, at best.

  • nice job

  • so much better with the original. makes me wonder if they still have it in them today.

  • Congratulations. I like the original voices much better, but the film shows us the sensuality the song is meant to transmit. So nothing better than to put the original voices in the mouthes of the actors. Love Sarah Brightman

  • why did you not do the whole song?

  • broadway version is way better!

  • Awesome :) I agree with ChildOfTheWilderness michel crawford is the best phantom vocally, but gerard butler sing with passion. Also tardmuffin1234 that was very rude!if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all.

  • They all rock!

  • ew wtf

  • Crawford sings it better, Butler has more passion.

  • y u change it i believe the other dude that does sing it in the film sings it betta.but gd Quillity of the vid thought and other all very gd work :D

  • purely personal choice. liked the film, didn't like the singing/editing. :]

  • Same here. I saw the broadway version before the movie, so I had to hold the movie up to Broadway quallity. Was not impressed.

  • I had the other wa around lol but the stage version is so much bette han the film!
