Well, history and politics teach us that it's naiveness to believe everything's that is declared out loud publicly, I think you should read more about the facts involving the incident of 9/11. Besides, the war that the U.S got itself into afterwards, had far more victims compared to what happened in 9/11, which is ironic because the U.S was having a war against more than one country causing the same casualties it mourned in 9/11.

@Chucktanium ........Maybe so, but remember this was the 80s, with the bitter taste of Vietnam still in the mouths of the veteran leadership on Capital Hill. They were thirsty for some degree of revenge and they saw no better opportunity than to give the Soviets a rude awakening in Afghanistan. It worked beautifully........but alas.......when the Russians left, the result was an Afghanistan in shambles. The power vacuum ushered in the Taliban, and we all know what that ultimately led to.

That's the fucking price Russia payed for supplying North Vietnam with SA-2 missiles. The Stinger, Javelin, and Milan turned Russia's world upside down in Afghanistan The once ruthless Mi-24 Hind gunship and T-62 tank suddenly became the hunted. You could spot a Russian Mi-24 pilot just back from a sortie by the 5 yards of seat fabric hanging between the crack of his ass. A once "easy pickins" mission suddenly became a living hell for the average Russian pilot.
