@genosynca but to go back to population genetics. Genetic reproduction (since genes are the real thing which is being replicated at the most basic level) doesn't have to be direct. Just as your hands don't produce babies, they do support the rest of the infrastructure of your body that does.
This is very likely why homosexuality exists, it can have beneficial effects on the reproductive success of genes (in siblings and family members) so long as its less than 51% of the total population.

@genosynca but to go back to population genetics. Genetic reproduction (since genes are the real thing which is being replicated at the most basic level) doesn't have to be direct. Just as your hands don't produce babies, they do support the rest of the infrastructure of your body that does.
This is very likely why homosexuality exists, it can have beneficial effects on the reproductive success of genes (in siblings and family members) so long as its less than 51% of the total population.

Please explain this. Is your only measure of value is the production of children? Then what value art, what value poetry, what value is an arm, or a bridge, your valuation makes humanity inferior to bacteria.

I'm done simply because we have completely different points of view and neither of us is going to change the others mind.

If you no longer believe that the only value is procreation, then your own argument against homosexuals being less legitimate is eliminated.
A final thought; a bacteria placed in a Petri-dish will multiply until finally the species dies off, not for lack of food, or space, but due to poisoning from their own waste.
Humanity faces a similar prospect, over population leading to our own waste choking us. Spitting out more babies is the last thing we need and threatens the survival of the species

Good point if humans were actually DECREASING in number homosexuality would be a problem, but we're NOT, so in a way, it could be more like a less lethal version of population control.

Xorinite is being way too complicated. It's as simple as this:
1) We have no shortage of human beings for our continued survival on earth
2) Advances in technology can replace some of nature's processes
3) Almost all hobbies are pointless, including gay sex. Humans can do these things because they enjoy doing them.
4) As long as they aren't hurting anyone, people should have the right to do what they want to do, in this case.

Sexual reproduction allows for the sharing of genetic material. A bacteria can only pass on its own genetic material, including any new ones gained from mutation.
With sex your children can benefit from genes from yourself, or your partner, thus bad genes die off, and good genes spread more rapidly.
Now, since you didn't watch that video I will explain how a polygenic trait which causes homosexual behaviour can still increase reproductive success in the species (not in individuals)

You have a genetic mechanism connected to sexual behaviour which fosters family bonds.
Its not difficult to see how, if some of the benefits of this mechanism could be transferred to those of the same gender, it could increase the reproductive success, providing of course that it doesn't interfere with the original mechanism.
So you would expect to see a certain 'percentage of gayness' in all individuals, even the most heterosexual. Thus due to variation you get homosexual individuals.
