You have to get off and take business 422 to get to Wyomissing Jct. Assuming you are traveling west on 422/222, take the State Rd. exit and travel west on business 422, assuming you are traveling east on 422, get onto business 422 at West Lawn, the road splits, make sure you are in the left lane and you will travel over the highway and the tracks. If you are south of the tracks, you are on business 422 (Penn Avenue).
im constantly looking for places to film trains. do you know when the best days are, cuz when I go, I end up sitting for hours without a train in sight. its annoying. and having cops pull up asking if im loitering pisses me off.
Both of those sidings are roughly 100 feet to no where. They would probably be used to set off defective cars. They probably served industries at one time—this area is full of industry—but none are currently served by rail in this town.
A Velbon DV7000 is a fluid head tripod, very simple to set up and use, and it is very sturdy, and weighs only 10 lbs. It is really good value at only about $110-130.
The quality has now improved greatly but it's still not an option to even watch in HQ let alone HD.... from the processing, I mean. Now that the video has processed but it still doesn't have the quality choice but it looks HD already....
What model of camera do you use and what is the frame rate; what do you find to be the lowest acceptable frame rate for good video? My camera does 15 and 30; 30 is SOOOOOOO much better but I can only record for 10 seconds at a time on that setting. sucks
SIXTY fps; wow. 30 fps looks damn good in VGA resolution on my cheap camera. Cinema analog is only 24 fps; it's all it has to be; digital requires more.
I shoot 1080p in 30Progressive (30p), there is go 60FPS mode on my camera except for 60interlaced (60i), and that is just a horrible 30FPS setting because it is 60 half-frames.
How do you know what the destination numbers are ? Like for instance the 25R train @6:54. I've been researching but cannot find anything ?

@conrailbuff What are the state troopers like the Gestapo in the States? why would they give a shit if you pulled over to film a train?

Excellent catches! I need a new tripod myself. Would you recommend this to someone that really isn't shooting professional grade video?
Also, when were you out at Wernersville? I was out there Friday (11/27) for the entire day.
