  • my mothers father was Irish my own father was italian we had all these records including gigli caruso titto gobbi and father sydney mcewan mickey and mary carton lots of others love hearing them all again, brings back a lot of good memories.

    Yes: Tauber made several records of Irish songs around 1938/9, including Macushla, Mother Macree, The Rose of Tralee, I hear you calling, and The Derry Air [O Mary Dear]. He and McCormack were great friends.
