  • Robin makes me hurl.

  • This is the epitome of pretentiousness. The song that never ever ends

  • What an Unbelievable Performance. Love it! !!

  • Still one of my favorite live performances ever. I can't even begin to describe what this song does to me every time I hear it. I don't know why - it wasn't even a particular favorite of mine in the 90s. I think it's the mix of nostalgia, Adam Duritz passion and vulnerability in his broken voice that gives a sort of desperate longing for something. I just find it beautiful.

  • @2hamboigahs If that's how you feel about him, then why even take the time to click on the video? Just to make a negative comment and try to stir things up? Seems like it wouldn't be to hard to find a better use of your time.

  • "is the bunny ready?" lol

  • They need to release a best of Howard Stern performances album with this song on it.

  • @ShawnMASTAGibbs I fully agree!

  • the rabbit is the one in accidentally in love hell yeah

  • Still gives me chills. One of the greatest moments in Stern show history.

  • this is an example of real music

  • Adam is one of the most underrated songwriters ever

  • Wow.

  • Amazing

  • 6 people have no idea what good music is.

  • wow, this is the most heartfelt version i have ever heard him do. i keep getting goosebumps. he puts his whole soul and heart into singing, and you see it here. love it.

  • This song makes me close to understanding Jesus

  • Amazing... Just amazing

  • I try to get into new stuff lately and it just isn't as good as this.I used to listen to this album on repeat when I was like 15

  • Awesome!!!

  • *Chills*

  • "Take the bunny suit off and put the Adam suit on". Fuck I miss Artie.

  • @MrDookieBootie Agreed! Artie leaving the Stern Show was CATASTROPHIC. As for Adams performance, it definitely transcends music and goes into a spiritual realm.

  • @bdbd I get the chills every time I listen to this.

  • Be aware this is EARLY in the morning too. Hearing this on Stern made me a Counting Crows fan.

  • Active Marine, Amazing

  • "Let's all just sit down and have a nice cup of life."

One of the best quotes I've heard.

  • Wow...Wow...Wow!

  • When is this from? It's like their really old versions, but it sounds newer -- i.e. Adam's vocal stylings?

  • @danieljohnsonfilms It's not very old, just about 2 years (I luckily heard it live)

  • This version is so good I came back to listen again months later.

  • This is such a great song!

  • "sometimes I... don't ... know" was almost it for me. Does anyone know if one can find their 1st appearance on SNL anywhere??

  • "baby all I need is you" that part almost make me cry

  • Robin stinks

  • nice bunny ears

  • 1thru99,com thanks..

  • Thank you so much for this. I love counting crows so much that I have even given part of my body that is my tatooed sleeve filled with Bright eyes, Velvet Underground, Ryan Adams and White stripes to this band. After hearing this my love took even a higher level. Thanks..

  • Jesus Christ..

  • good version but lettermen 1994 is better :)

  • songwriting meets poetic genius...adam doesn't just write music, he paints beautifully detailed pictures of life everyone can relate to.

  • HELL YEAH!! they played it more like an acoustic version of when it was originally played by the Himalayans! <3

  • great song saw them in aug at melody tent awesome show

  • I listened to this and it puts me in a different place......and then there is Artie Lange.

  • The love of my life posted this video for me <3 Love you! XOXO

  • I'm a massive Tool fan and imo Duritz' ability to convey emotion like this is on par with Maynard James Keenan easily but in a completely different Genre I don't think he gets 'nuff props. Fxckin' amazing.

  • Best version EVER

  • @h82bporgmail watch?v=IyWg7nqcT-0 This is probably the best version ever, when Duritz's voice was a little stronger. But the emotion in this version, is beautiful. Something only Adam can give.

  • @h82bporgmail

Best version ever and the best performance in that studio ever. They gotta come back, the bunny too.

  • Too bad untalented Howard had to put him in a bunny suit. I used to like Stern on regular radio. Now he has become what he fought against. And Robin is the biggest kiss ass I have ever heard. I rented a car in the last few weeks with Serious Radio and his show is lame.

  • @ryand76 Just enjoy what Adam and CC did...this isn't about Howard...CC did what they do...just appreciate

  • @ryand76 yeah because it was Howards idea for him to show up like that. I am going to say you're an O&A fan, you can't even spell Sirius radio.

  • Did he just go on ramble in the middle of the song? *curious*

  • no other version even compares after hearing this one

  • This was during the time Adam admitted publicly he suffers from depression. You can hear it in his voice.

  • Unbelievable performance, Adam Duritz is an utter genius. Stunning.

  • I like to call this performance, 'Round Hare'.

  • I think the combination of great sound in that studio and the fear of being ridiculed if you have a bad performance by Howard makes for an awesome live performance by any band on the HSS.

  • best fucking version......Howards performances by artists are the best ever.....

  • also, he wears a dreadlock wig

  • If i was in a band, I would like to be in a band that makes real music, like this. I coun't imagine playing crappy pop music and going on a cross country tour when you don't believe in it. other than for the money. This is real music.

  • This is the most beautiful version of round here i've heard them sing.

    It's just breath taking.

  • i listen to this whenever i cant sleep

  • @Lucidwindows Stern has been so instrumental in the Counting Crows success. He had them on when they were nobodies. They'd be the first to admit it. I don't think they mind him cracking a joke like "earn your money", they have a long history together.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lucidwindows hey've always said publicly that Stern and his show were instrumental in their success. Stern was there before they were The Counting Crows, why do you think they continue to come on? Because they are grateful for his help, you obviously didn't hear the interview. They sat there for an hour and talked with him in addition to doing the song. If you can't understand that "Earn your money" is a joke between friends then you're going no where. Don't you ever joke with your friends?

  • @Lucidwindows and do you know how many bands sign with a record company and tour but aren't successful? Exposure is why they were so successful, exposure he gave them. I almost want to say he had them on before they were signed, if I remember correctly. I may be thinking of another successful band but I'm pretty sure it was them.

  • @Lucidwindows Thank goodness Counting Crows aren't retarded like you are.

  • Comment removed

  • @Lucidwindows Aw someone is upset. :( It's called being witty, something an idiot like yourself wouldn't understand, obviously. Not everyone is as emo and takes everything to heart like you do, I'm pretty sure Adam didn't give a shit so why should you?

  • Comment removed

  • @Lucidwindows You "Advice" me huh? Also, please understand the difference between Your and You're, dear god, how did you graduate elementary school not knowing that? Your stupidity is showing... god you're fucking stupid. The fact you were ignorant to their relationship and still decided to comment on it without knowing a fucking thing proves how big of a moron you are. Please reply, you're really easy to make fun of, and this is really amusing. :)

  • Comment removed

  • @Lucidwindows You're so mad. :D

  • @LetsBurnAChurch Bababooey

  • @rellisac Bababooey

  • This is one of the best performances ive ever heard.

  • i heard this live and i actually welled up and had to stop driving

  • Let's all sit down and just have a nice cup of life. =]

  • This is my all time favorite band, song, and this version is the BEST I've ever heard of Round Here. It gives me shivers, Adam transcends everything good about putting emotions into a song when you can feel everything through his voice like that. I'm blown away.

  • This is honestly one of the best songs I have ever heard, I tear up everytime I listen to it. I love how he conveys the raw emotion of the song that you never really pick up on with the radio version.

  • @croleymd 99 percent of musical performances on howards show have been amazing.. god there are so many.. i hope they live on for hundreds or thousands of years

  • beautiful! I love you Adam, you will always be the great love of my life. As a matter of fact I recommend you go ahead and get a restraining order because I've got it bad for you!

  • i closed my eyes and cried ... everytime i hear this performance i cry like a bitch!

  • the part from 6:07 to 8:15 is so fucking good

  • I heard this today for the first time! At first i'm like what the hell then i kept listening and I thought wow how interesting and then my final thought was wow how awesome and great feeling towards the song! very emotional!

  • Daaaamnn! Very emotional....too bad he couldn't tell Howard was genuinely moved and open up a little. Guess the bunny suit threw him a little...

  • I did covers of Accidentally In Love and Holiday In Spain on my guitar. Check it out.

  • Adam's voice fluxuating from near-whispers to climaxes in the spur of a moment, especially during the dialogue between the characters, gives the song a storybook feel to it. I like stories. The contrast between the violent guitar strokes and the subtle piano notes also really caught my attention right away. Everything flows so well. Favorite version of the song, keep it up Crows.

  • Such an amazing performance

    The end is classic too

"Take the bunny outfit off and put the Adam outfit on" God I miss Artie

  • I really liked it.

  • Simply inredible! Wow, talk about singing with feeling

  • Absolutely incredible.

  • Wow. Made me tear up, and I'm a 28-year old man.

  • Adam is awesome. Yes he has his problems, and he pissed me off personally as a result of his condition, but I cannot deny his talent and ability to use language to speak his heart. It is my sincere hope that he is better now. Perhaps one day i will be able to forgive him. meanwhile, I will always adore his art.

  • @MeleeStormbringer not to be nosy, but how did he piss you off?

  • wow!

  • I'm a former Marine and truck driver. I had never thought anything of Counting Crows, until I heard this live while driving. Goose bumps and a lump in my throat and I don't even know why. This version of this song is the only music that has EVER moved me.

  • @lthrnek93 wow dude ur comment kinda stunned me. no music has ever moved u? never sparked any kind of emotion in u? joy, anger, sadness, love? r u not a fan of music? what kind of music do u listen to?

  • @lthrnek93

you should check out more of their acoustic stuff. Greatest music ever.

  • @lthrnek93 once a Marine, always a Marine

  • @lthrnek93 He really takes you to a whole other place...eery and beautiful

  • If I had this on mp3 my life would be complete. Greatest version of the song. So many other worldly performances in howard sterns studio, Fucking amazing.

  • I got to see them at World Cafe about 2 yrs ago!! UNREAL!

  • I'm fairly confident no one's voice has ever been more on point than this. Very, very good version. I'm amazed everytime I hear it.

  • This always makes me cry, and I don't know why. Nice listening to a genius at work. Just awesome.

  • As soon as he started playing, I just closed my eyes without even knowing it and kept them closed the whole song.

  • I was never a big Counting Crows fan, but this is a really good rendition. Man, sometimes I miss the 90s.

  • i cant even read what i said . its just blank

  • adam is the real deal musician he needs to start teaching classes open up a music school and teach people every thing he knows about music that would be a very good way to give back more to people who want to express thereself through music

  • Comment removed

  • i love how he doesnt want to play it then he f- ing rocks it. I kept this show on my s-50 for months, all the songs they did that day were awsome

  • I kept it on my Stiletto until something happened & it wiped out my whole library... I absolutely love this version... Goosebumps everytime I listen to it!!

  • AD - Is a lyrical genius. I love seeing CC live best show I've ever seen!

CC is the best band ever!

  • Yeah this is powerfull, really amazing.

  • Happy Valentines Day sweet boy

  • Comment removed

  • Is there actual video available for this because it's amazing!?!?

  • "I love playing with this band... I'll never play with anybody else"

    amazing

  • I remember when this show aired. I sat thru the next 3 replays just to hear it again. Amazing!

  • I can not stop playing this.....words can't describe how amazing this song really is....this rendition is untouchable.....the mystery that is adam duritz helps makes this group just that much better....you never know what to expect from CC....or what kind of performance AD is going to give....best live performers ever!

  • I agree about CC. Their early albums were the soundtracks to my life at that time. AD: yes, one of my favorite characters of all time. Cheers*

  • @MarijuanaGood4U thats what she said.

    and don't be so mainstream.

  • This is my favourite song in the entire world and I have never heard a version sung by Adam Duritz that didn't make me fall in love with it even more and all over again.

  • There are two people who I believe are completely underrated as excellent songwriters/live performers-- Adam Duritz and Jason Mraz.

  • Holy Shit, Thats was Beautiful Poetry.

  • Awesome! just Awesome! (ignoring the moron below me) lol

  • so what if he's complaining? it's his style. cope with it

  • great song!!!

  • awesome. just awesome.

  • I remember hearing this when they first did it on the Stern's sirius radio show... man that was amazing, we were on a road trip across the country and everyone in the car just stopped talking and was silent cause we all knew we were hearing something special. One of the best performances ever.

  • Thats awesome man. I love it when that happens. I can remember being in the car and hearing songs that I really like, or have heard for the first time, and how unforgettable it is. Awesome performance, couldn't imagine hearing it live.

  • C.CROWS is my Texas License plate I love them and Adam Duritz <3

  • This song brings me very close to tears. It is so heartfelt and meaningful.

  • agreed

  • Howard said that this was one of the best live songs he's ever heard ... i can see why!

  • Such a good song

  • Wow.

After you don't listen to a band for awhile, you can forget how good some of their songs are.

  • Amazing how they managed to flawlessly insert "Have You Seen Me Lately" in the bridge of Round Here.

  • Unbelievable! Very few singers can convey feelings and emotion like Duritz he is a rare breed among the vast mediocrity of today's musical offerings.

  • makes me think of my ex use to sing this song to her i will always love u keri u my only love

  • duritz has been through serious depression so it's easy to understand how his feelings/emotion can pour out. he's been through some tough times.

  • @jacobsdad09 amen

  • Blown away!!!!!! Thanks guys!

  • This is my favorite song EVER!! I LOVE YOU,COUNTING CROWS!!!!

  • It's rare these days to hear a performer who CARES so much in a song. I mean, plenty of performers care about their music, but to put such emotion into the song, that you can tell that he CARES about what he's singing. He's not just mouthing lyrics, he's trying to express something.

And it's that expression, that feeling, that caring.....that's what art is.

Now, I don't mean that every band has to be like this, plenty of good bands aren't...just that this is special, this is ART

  • pink is a bitch? ok but dont need to be mad on com to say it lol everyone have right to like it or not but NO ONE have right to put so bad words on my song then keep quiet ok

and him is not a bitch haha is a man but he look so stupid did i tell u that is a bic sucker? no then be ok and i will do!

  • i love how they mix houndhere and , have you seen me latly such an amazing acoustic performance adam duritzs is my hero

  • one of the best acoustic songs i've ever heard... maybe slightly ahead or behind springsteen's my fathers house

  • i remember hearing this for the first time during the show's replay that day. wow.

  • does anybody have a copy of the counting crows on Howard stern doing "Thunder Road'? That was far and away the best song they did during this interview.

  • Oh man, Counting Crows and Spingsteen are my two favorites. I would love to hear that. If you find it, please let me know.

  • I have the whole show. ill try and cut out the songs from the show into MP3 format

  • do you seriously have the whole show??? If you get this comment, reply back Id give you my email and a huge thanks if you could email me even just this song. I friggin love it! Plz man!!!

  • Yeah. I download the whole show for almost everyday. I don't have EVERY show but pretty much alot of them from the first few years on Sirus. I have yet to cut that part of the show out yet but Ill do that tonight or tomorrow morning.

  • the vocal timing of this song is very very tricky, and they did a reasonable job, but they were reaching for the next cue for the vocal line.

  • anybody know where to find the version of mr jones they played on howard? it was awesome and i can't find it anywhere.

  • I'd love to hear that... Didn't know they did that song as well...

  • This song still takes my breath away.

  • what do you have agaist Howard Stern,?

  • i hate howard stern slightly less for appreciating the GOD that is adam duritz

  • anyone know what day this was on the show? like the date

  • March 27, 2008

  • If I remember Right It was on a thursday...It was Great hearing it in the car.

  • Adam Duritz is an annoying tool...but he is really freakin' good.

  • 6:14, i farted.
