What our modern culture is missing. We once gathered around the fire, the flames the only thing beating back the darkness, and listened to our elders impart ancient knowledge encapsulated within timeless tales and myth.
Now we have a box that tells us what to think and what to buy. Sad.
damn this makes me so proud to be Mexican, a part of something so ancient and so rich in history...something mystical and powerful, full of magic....our temples will stand until the end of time.... magic is real, they might have taken our gold, but the real treasure is our spirit and it will never be broken.
oneness with nature and not opposing its forces lead to the understanding of such a tale, magnificent in its simplicity. this is a foretell of what western civilization would become in modern times. the struggle of men for definitve context is the root of his own sickness and justifies societies' self-obliteration.
the first time i saw the film on DVD i had to rewind this part and soak it all in once again. sad how we keep taking from the earth without any disregard, forgetting that earth is a living thing. we need to wake up the sheep
I think he said it beautifully, "I saw a hole in the man. Deep like a hunger he will never fill..." This was clearly seen when America crushed the Native Americans, the land was plentiful for the two, however they wanted more, "He will go on taking and taking..."
actually the reason god evolved in our minds was to help us gel moraly and deal with loss as survival required us to create strong bonds and community making loss a painfull experience. At that time we weren't advanced enough to differentiate what is real and what is psycological and so we used god to find answers to real life questions. This has held us back.
good reply. but we probably have went back to realising that if there is something out there that created all this it wasn't nailed to a cross and doesn't pick peoples pockets each week.
And the Lord God commanded the man, saying,Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it:for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die.(I suppose Mel Gibson would appreciate that)I thought this movie was brilliant.
Let me rephrase that. Mahatma Gandhi said it as well.
"I feel most deeply that spiritual growth compels us in a certain phase to stop slaughtering our fellow creatures for the satisfaction of our physical wants."
"The Earth has enough for the needs of every single person, but not for his greed."
This story should cheer people up because it demonstrates the way we need to look at life to fix the problem that the elder is illuminating. Changing the way we look at life is the only way to change our harmful actions. So first try hard to understand the video and then try hard to understand "A Happy Cat."
By the way, it really helps to write out the story onto a computer as you watch the movie and pause. It helps towards the effort of fully understanding the meaning behind his words.
Best film i have seen in years. I cant believe the american public couldnt stand it. It goes to show you how blind people continue to let themselves be. Great story!!
I would have thought America would wake up by now, but we choose to be left in our dillusional fantasies totally adverse to our current Babylonial continuence without any mind or thought of our souls. We are fixated on the 3 dimensions which (I believe) is holding us back from our true potential that God has planned for us.
thanks for your input. It makes me happy and optimistic to see intelligence and people with understanding still exist. Only problem is we dont rule the world.. lol Good luck to ya my brotha
what an underrated movie.

This story is the main idea of the movie and the summary of our lives. Its meaning is clear enough, isn't it?

The message from this elder is a "no brainer".
People have lost touch with themselves as well
as the earth.People don't respect People or
other living beings:Winged,Fish,Four-legged,
etc.Sad but true!
CarlosMacMartin 3 years ago 5
See the film Rapa Nui, it has the same message.

Does anyone else get the hidden meaning? I wont say anything if you don't yet.

It's weird that some people just don't see it.

Here's a story to cheer people up!
A Happy Cat
There is a story told about a cat who discovered that happiness was in his tail.
He kept trying over and over to get it, but all he could do was run around in circles.
Exhausted and frustrated, with this endless pursuit,, he eventually stopped.
And then, he discovered that if he'd just go on about his life then it would follow him wherever he went.
