  • SLE is owned by Conn Dot but operated by Amtrak; SLE operates under Amtrak rules, this "Reverse move out by the CT River is orchestrated with other rail traffic in the area, Thou it may not make sense to switch at the sound view switch to us I am sure there is an operation reason for it. Thou SLE is operated by Amtrak, Amtrak trains receive priority over SLE so this reverse move is probably to keep the signals in the clear for Amtrak trains in the area.

  • Thankyou for shedding some like ont his subject I found your comment very useful and helpful. Most times I am thier the sle train comes in on track 3 and then crew walks to the front of the train goes straight back to newhaven with no revres move

  • Ok, that's a weird way to get to track 1. The next switch track for track 1 is right near the CT river bridge. There's a switch track for track 1 just to the west of the station. All they needed to do is move up a bit, then reverse it back into the station. What they did here wastes time and fuel.

  • Don't no realy it's amtrak or condot rules got me

  • Yeah, it's weird.
