@SwiftXZ You'll need something around a 1000w power supply. The wattage that is advertized is just the max that it can produce and it won't be producing that amount all of the time. A good PSU will generally fluctuate between 70-80% of the max power output when you're using your computer for things like gaming.

@JohnMushySmith that's not really true, for a lot of power supplies they advertise the average max output. and then you look under the details and see the real maximum output. for example a 1000 watt is an about 80% efficient 1200 watt.

No research is put into the supercombo parts selection. Too many a times I have seen CPUs on motherboards not compatible with them, whether by TDP or by CPU socket even (AM2+ CPU does not work on AM3 damnit!)

since this was done roughly one year ago, it explains why they're using 'outdated/dead' tech of the LGA1366 for a new build vs the i7-2600K LGA1155 that would be better today in regards to more modern and supported architecture since the LGA1156 and 1366 arebasically dead. not a bad build though and I'd like to see an update to this one very soon with mor modern internals .

This is a nice stater for someone who wants to build their first computer and is interested in getting into PC gaming. I will admit that putting on a non stock heatsink is that hardest thing to assemble. I had trouble doing my Cooler Master V6 GT. But if you are not planning on overclocking or anything, you can just skip out on the heatsink and spend that money on something else.
