What was racist about him? Everything I heard was that he had high support amongst blacks. And holds the record for most re elected governor. And stood for freedom of choice.
Why don't White Folks have a Right to live in a White Neighborhood, or to have their White Children attend a White School?
Why is it illegal for a White Business Owner to hire White Employees?
If you truly believe your own Propaganda that We are on the same then why are there restrictions on where White Folks are allowed to live, work, or go to school, but no restrictions on blacks or browns?
lol! I'll give you a hint: I tore Wallace stickers off the bumpers of cars before a certain song popularized the phenomenon. (Actually, most bumpers were chrome back then and bumper stickers didn't come off unless one used a solvent. For extra credit, guess which common household solvent work best, ie fastest.)
anyone like 3 great alabama icons by george wallace? that tells you everything you need to know about george wallace - not a racist but a votemongerer, even that required catering to the greater alabama population of his period... as that song says, he lost his 1958 bid for governor as an intergrationist and a lawyer and a judge of a very progressive and humanitarian track record - and he opened up alabama politics to minoritires in the 1970's at a rate much higher than the federal govt.
America passed on a great leader in 1968, I speak as a northener from Ohio. Like others said, he had to say some of those things to get elected in the south at the time but he changed but at the sametime its said Wallace never trusted the KKK and the like. Alot of that was the media. So America wound up with tricky dick nixon and the incompotent Jimmy Carter. If Wallace was president 1977-1981 Iran would have never held those folks hostiage for so long. he would have scared those Arabs shitless
I hate to say this but you need your fact rights he was not a 'Dixiecrat,' he was in the American American Independent Party by the way who ever mad this video!
Actually...my facts are correct. I do see your point, though. But, the "dixiecrat" came about because Wallace was a registered Democrat when he ran for president in '72. Even before (as governor) he was a "dixiecrat," a term which has less to do with being a democrat than it does with being a southern bureaucrat. I work in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Lurleen Wallace tumor institute. Believe me, he was in all ways: A Dixiecrat and described himself as such. Thanx for you comment though.
Wallace was not actually a racist. he only stood for racism to gain votes. not that im pro racism and im not deffending him, but by the end of his political career he did alot to help civil rights too. so if you are one of those that belive that he was a hero for seggrogation, get your facts right.
What a predjudice foul mouthed jerk. Shows how educated he is. I sold a Emerald Green Barricuda it had Dual Head Carburators, Struts Over head Cam and Chrome Reverse Mags, it Shined a Blue Green at night in the lights. It didnt have air, so I sold it. That would of been my death, everyone that drove by wanted to race, I loved that car. I really miss it.

The only good redneck is a dead redneck. Nuke Alabama and all you motherfucking sister screwing bubba white trash bible thumping bitches. HAIL PRESIDENT B HUSSIEN OBAMA.
An amazing man-- One of my political heroes. My mother idolized him during the 60's and 70's. America would have been a much better place with him as president. Bremer should have been electrocuted. Instead he was recently released. What a country.
Hey! Thanks my dream car. If you look in my 'tags' section (by clicking 'more info') you'll see the it's a sweet 1971 Plymouth Barracuda. I 1st wanted that car when I was little kid, after seeing the horror film Phantasm, where the '71 Cuda is what the dudes were tooling around in. Thanx for the comment!
Another great video. George Wallace was the governor for a long time, what was it about 15 years in all? I doubt anyone like him would get any chance at all now with his views. He was a tough nut though, being shot that many times.

Excellent Expressions of The Development of Hate and Killings that were completely un-necessary..........
I campaigned for George Wallace. I liked him and everyone to his own opinion.
Seems every Politician who dont kiss ass to the people on the hill, disappears or is assasinated.
