i have a question. ok i use this program at school and i cannot find a free download for this program. do you have to pay for this program and if not where can i find this program?
hi! thank you so much for uploading this tutorial, it's been really helpful :D .. i just have a question, i think i have a different version of garageband, i think its a more recent version of it since i bought my mac like 6 months ago.. anyway, i wanted to ask you if you knew where the details button was for this version? i looked all over and i cant find it :/ ... id really appreciate it if you could help me out :) thanks !
Thanks man. I have had my Mac for going on 5 years now, and haven't messed with Garageband because I was intimidated by it. I've only ever used Fruity Loops, and didn't get very proficient in it either so this will help me out just starting out. I was wondering, do you know any premade loops or samples of rap beats that are available? Even just simple instruments, like an 808 drum or bass sound? And if so, where could I find those? Cuz that's mainly what I'll be making with it. Hip Hop music.
I've been looking for a good DAW lately, I've heard of Garageband but didn't hear very good things about it. After seeing this I don't see much of what's wrong. It seems to be a simple, very well arranged sequencer. I would try and get a Mac if they didn't cost so damn much -.- I use LMMS & FL Studio, LMMS is cool but I'm about bored with it, and I hate FL because of how messy & unorganized & just plain confusing it is. Alot of Mac software looks very easy to use and organized ^.^
Wow this is helpful : ) So, is it possible to record a whole track into Garage Band from vinyl, CD, MP3 to create an edit?? Adding new effects, drums, hits etc...
@shufflebugg1 I know how to add mp3s to make a basic edit, click on the media browser at the bottom right corner (the icon with the music note, picture and video)
@DreamBellProductions it comes on every mac man. Only for mac windows alternative is Fruity loops which is insanley difficult to understand and it costs ya
Not only is this an excellent GB tutorial, but along the way you provide easy-to-understand, economical and therefore, very useful, descriptions of effects such as compression.
Not everyone has the ability/talent to teach or explain so clearly.
What if I don't have a piano....
