I have one of his horseshoes. It's extremely special to me. I've painted it copper, and it looks stunning. My great uncle was his farrier and he gave one to my grandad to give to me. I'm going to hold it this gran national to symbolize good luck and HOPE. R.I.P Red Rum<3

A lovely tribute to the world's greatest horse. What's all the in fighting in the comments below? I've read them all - and everybody agrees that Red Rum achieved his hat trick when the Aintree course was horrendously tough compared to now! (Never forget, though - horses still die in the toughest steeplechase of them all).

What a lovely video for my favourite racehorse of all time. I too had the privilege of meeting him once after he was retired. I couldn't believe how small he was. It just shows you what tremendous bravery and heart he had. Wish there were more like him.

he truely was an amazing horse. my dad looked after him when he retired nd i sat on him when i was young. that is somthing i will never ever forget he is a racing legend that should never be forgoten

best vid yet always loved red rum. desert orchid reminded me of red rum because of his heart n spirit im not being nasty but thats the 1 thing american racehorse dont have and thats heart n spirit cus red rum 1 of hi races with a hoof infection he was such a hero sme for desert orchid.
