the rat is just normal, all my rats, i've got 5, curls their tail when they are running! i think its just about their balance. i've also heard that they curl their tail if the cage is to small, but mine are just in the case at the night. This is just normal and not dangerous at all! :D cute rat, btw !

Actually, Rats should ALWAYS have a wheel. you can get wheels that are solid plastic and therefore not dangerous but Rats are exstreamly active and need the exstra exercise. Most rats will LOVE thier wheel and will even choose to go back in thier cage to run on it totally on thier own. It those running balls you should always avoid those are dangerous for a rat and not much fun. Rats love to interact with their surroundings!

yeah it is true that a cats instinct is to kill and small moving thing, but if you look at it this way a mother cat just had kittens and she is nursing 3 baby squirrels she could kill them but they are abadoned and just little babies. So the cat becomes the surrogant mother and nurses them and cleans them just like she would her own kittens. My old cat ralphy would love our rabbit danny they always got along. Just depends on how long the cats around the small creatures. From a baby till older
