  • Btw - what's up with these comments about chains ?

These elephants haven't been on chains in decades !!! They have been managed in PC for a decade folks - and on a really nice farm !!!!!!!

  • Some of you - are just nuts -

And paws - although has a awesome facility and does try its best to provide homes for these exotics.

I do feel that Pat and others should feel ashamed at trying to point the finer at others or imply things.

Let's just set some of the facts straight !

1- sabu has not been on the road or performing in decades! !! Yes decades !

2- sabu lived on a great farm for over the past decade - and has been in protected contact for many years - and look what that did to

  • The perfect peace comes with eternal rest. Sweet dreams dear Sabu.

  • I only wish Lucy, the lone elephant at the Edmonton Valley Zoo in Alberta, Canada, could experience the same kind of freedom Sabu enjoyed at PAWS. Sadly, zoo officials insist she is better off where she is and refuse to send her to a suitable sanctuary, such as PAWS, in spite of the attempts of many people to rescue her from her lonely life. Like many elephants in a cold climate, she suffers from arthritis. Thankfully, the Toronto Zoo is sending their 3 elephants to PAWS sometime in 2012.

  • Bless you all at PAWS....Sabu was so loved....

  • R.I.P Sabu...Grateful thanks to all at PAWS Ark 2000 where Sabu lived until he had to go! xxx:(

  • What a beautiful place this is.....these are such the lucky ones....bless all at PAWS!

  • Sweet Sabu, doing what comes naturally and that's simply being an elephant, with no restrictions or conditions. He seems so cool and placid about it all. Particularly love the "birds nest" he's wearing! Bless you, dear boy, you are so endearing.

I wonder if eventually, Sabu and Nicholas will meet up and graze together, or is that asking a bit too much, putting two bull elephants together? I'd be interested to know about this point. Perhaps PAWS could enlighten me here.

  • @maryea46 I was wondering the same thing but I bet it will be thru the fence....he appears to be a more mellow fellow , just slow and easy, than Nic who seems very inquisitive ...he is so breathtakingly beautiful...

  • @donna1948ful Thanks for your response. Sabu certainly is one beautiful boy. He does seem to be a lot more placid than his half brother Nic.

Being half brothers, I think they must have the same fathers, but different mothers. Nic's mum Ronnie, now resides in absolute heaven at the Tennessee Elephant Sanctuary, another amazing place for elephants.

I also believe another half brother Prince, will be residing at PAWS soon, once his barn is ready. Great.

  • Sabu! Indeed, you are a wonderful man. Here is to the good life and your freedom at PAWS' Elephant Sanctuary. What a sweet, beautiful elephant.

  • So nice to see this big boy enjoying a day doing whatever he pleased. But please, no more spinning transitions. they make me seasick.

  • Love this. He's so tentative at first. Sabu is pretty darned cute.

  • Sabu, just being an ele. How wonderful for you. No chains
