  • where is you fuckin guitar jerry. shame on your ass

  • Love it!!

  • toledo windobox

  • Wtf? This is 1983? Why is it black and white? It looks like early 1960s tv. Guess they saved money by not getting color film. Anyway Jerry took it easy here he didnt even play his guitar!

  • hmmmm a repeated verse and one omitted.

  • @xteraflop doesnt matter really...he could screw up everything and it'd still be epic

  • best guitarist that ever lived

  • I am about to flip out! I love Jerry Reed to death but this is the crappiest version that there has ever been I wish he could have done it normal. He probably just got sick of singing it like he recorded it.

  • ya im sorry but jerry reed was and as far as im conserned still is tha shit and i do have to agree wit u bigdood

  • WOW what an entrance! LOL!!! greeneyefull, you are right, Jerry was rapping long before rap was supposedly invented... he was the blackest white guy ever! Funky doesn't even begin to describe this song, and "talented" doesn't even begin to describe Jerry -- I think that PIONEER and GENIUS are two words that come closer to describing Jerry Reed and his musical prowess. The world's ears are poorer nowadays without having someone do this type of syncopated staccato melodic virtuosity! :-(

  • "Well they raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries"

Man you gotta love Jerry's lyrics!

  • Jerry Reed was rappin' before rap was popular

  • His death is a great loss for music :(. You always be with me Jerry. RIP Jerry Reed

  • Sure this was from 1983?

  • Hey bandit? You got peanut butter in your ears?!! Tell me what that womens got on?? Her mind??!!! Ha Ha!!!

  • Jerry Reed was the man, no doubt. He HAD IT!

  • Is that Jerry McGee of The Ventures on the red strat???? Love this song, but wish Jerry was using that tele for some of his funky chicken pickin'

  • Yah, I was thinking the same thing. I was waiting for some twang time on that thing. I know he could tear it up.

  • Great video thanks ! ! !

  • Geez, I love Jerry Reed! Who's gonna fill his shoes? Nobody. The country music industry lost a real artist with Jerry's passing. R.I.P. buddy, party with the other great country music artists who have been waiting for ya!

  • I witnessed and met this man during a USO show tour in norther Japan, Misawa AFB to be exact;he played two nights there you see.He even got "Ol'Bubba" the 432nd TFW XO(Exec Officer) to get up on stage and play the spoons w/him. To me, it was a treat to meet him, laugh with him, him laugh at me and me at him! A good Ol'boy that wont hold back his hand or his smile to great you. Jerry, I hope you didnt suffer too much with your disease, you are free now,Higher than a Georgia Pine, Sir!

  • I am an officer and I clocked a blue lincoln speeding and pulled it over and a man jumped out and yelled when ya hot ya hot and when ya ass is caught it's caught and low and behold it was Jerry Reed with that big smile. He had left center Hill lake fishing Porter Waggoner. I wished after I let him go I would have gave him a warning ticket instead of letting him go on a verbal. It was an honor to meet this man, and he was just like he portrays in movies a big smile and alot of laughs. RIP Jerry.

  • 10-10 good buddy, still hearing your voice loud n clear, your blowing my windows down, I'll catch you on the flipside, R.I.P.

  • Jerry Reed was my all-time favorite country singer. I had such a huge crush on him when I was in fifth grade! I bought this 45 rpm single in 1970 and played it on my portable record player -- probably 500 times at least. I still like Skynyrd, Alabama, Eagles, and the Allman Brothers -- all owe such a debt to Jerry Reed for their musical style. Mr. Reed was the top, though. He was the top. RIP.

  • He always had such a great attitude. The kind of guy that just made you smile. Who knows, he it may have just been a persona, but he always seemed to look like a damn nice guy. Too bad about his passing. Such an entertainer. East bound and down.

  • "Roll it up and truck it, Jerry...RIP>

  • I just heard about Jerry's passing a few minutes ago; so sorry to get this news. He was a favorite guitarist of mine, and had a terrific sense of humor! Thanks for the music, Mr. Reed!

  • God blees the Reed family.

  • the music world lost a true musical genius and legend today with the loss of Jerry Reed.

  • Just heard the sad news today, 09/02/08 R.I.P Jerry Reed. I bet the angels are singing a new way today.

  • Just recognize that Jerry is one of the baddest muthafuckin guitarists that ever walked this earth.

  • yes sir he was! R.I.P. snow man! Thank you for the funkiest country guitar ever played.

  • Man, what happened to this vid? It was awesome!

  • 2:04 C'mon get the lead out! HA!

  • left arm gone clean up to the elbow

  • Great singer, and a suprisingly good actor (smokey and The BAT 21 role come to mind) what is he doing now? Retired?

  • awesome vid!!!!!!!

  • I am absolutely not a country fan ( nothing against the genre; i just happened to have never really listened to it extensively as yet), but I just adore this song - it's musical, catchy, funky in its own way, good story-telling, colorful, and funny but too short.

  • Only The Snowman could pull this off.I've never been to a Rascall Flatts concert(since I don't hang out at gay bars)but rumor has it I hear these good buddies drive out in a pink Prius hybrid holding hands.Could some one give me a big ROG JO on that last transmission!

  • Look at all the Peavey Bandits ......

    Looks like my gear .....

    :)

  • omg i love this song!!!

  • Holy crap!.....This is definately rare as hell......Awesome post!

  • how correct you are! ive been looking fo a live performance of this song.....but there all bad covers old hippies! finally i found a great vid! faves!

  • Legendary!

  • What an entrance!

  • Hell YEA, Son! Way to really COOK! Jerry is the best. Big Roger on what Redcarpetlounge said too!

  • Flippin' AWESOME!!!Great post. Was this at The Toledo Sports Arena? It had to be to drive in an old COE Freightliner.Trucks were cool then and so was the music.Far as I'm concerned the trucks today are as GAY as the SISSY SALLY pop feminist country music. The Snowman RULES!

  • Wow, he really phoned it in on this one... first off, the band isn't playing the song close to the way it was written, and Herry's singing so monotone... it's not nearly as funny as the original recording. Then he tops it off by re-singing one of the verses. Oh well, it's still freakin' hilarious.

  • Reed is good but they aren't playing the familiar guitar intro anywhere close to the way it should be. If Jerry had been playing instead of holding that mic, it would probably have been done right.

  • yeah reed knows how to play it right in the intro. the rest was great though.

  • People dont credit J R enough for how good he is live!

  • Ahhhh! Sweet!

  • Holy redneck. I mean, I like the song Amos Moses. But the rig was just "wow"...

  • dude he is the Snowman from Smokey and the

Bandit.....Snowman drove a rig in the movie......so he came on stage in a rig

  • love it one of my fav songs from him

  • This is the ultimate in Jerry. He was really rockin' back in those days with the Thompson Station Congregation. I was lucky enuff to see him back then. Wish stuff like this had been put out on dvd!

  • short but well done, leaves me hungry for more (twss!)

  • This is what i look for...Thanks for the post!
