Corys are certainly shoaling (schooling) fish, so they need a shoal of 5-6 at least. However, they require significantly less space than loaches and never fight with each other, unlike loaches who always establish a pecking order.
These are bronze corys, a real beginner's fish. There are many other kinds, more colourful ones usually. Still, I like mine, because they are really good-natured, hardy and playful.
We now have three yo-yo's in a bigger tank, and I'm still not sure they're happy enough. Theoretically, they prefer a shoal of at least 5 or 6 and a pretty big tank...
i thought yo yo loaches where aggressive?

Ok I just didn't wanna make a mistake and buy a fish I can't care for I just want a loach I can have in my 10 gallon I might buy a cory
