AWESOME!!! My favorite version so far, concerning the vocals! But, please, couldn't they just play with a piano and a nice string instruments accompaniment? They could as well play that stupid instrument from star trek on the background, it would sound better than that annoying screachy sound.

Rose Jang has the most incredible voice of any female past or present, an absolutely beautiful voice and she has a smile and eyes to match. There are no words adequate to describe the loveliness of her voice—just fantastically beautiful sound! My favorites are when she sings ‘You Raise Me Up,’ and ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow,’ but everything she sings is fantastic! I hope she sings and records many more songs—such a tremendous talent, wonderful!

She is good! No doubt. But , I've listened to dozens of renditions of this song from some outstanding performers includeing Streisand, Dion, Buckley and the list goes on. No one catches the true essence of the song nearly as well as Elaine Page in her 1998 performance in "Cats" . Stunning!

I totally agree with you! And it's one of my alltime favorite showtunes and I listened to Elaine Page, Celine Dion, Babra Streisand sing it and I think she is the best!! I also think with a little voice training (fine tuning, really) that Susan Boyle could be right up there too!

Susan Boyle's only problem is that she sang it a bit too fast. But for someone who, probably for their whole life, had not spent much time in front of large audiences, I can give her a nod.

I don't think susan will go far just on the basis of the reaction and attention she got from the audition because it shocked everyone, it was the shock more than the voice for most people that thought 'omg she's amazing' the following performances didn't do anything for me, I'm sure for a lot of people either, they knew what they were getting, there was no shock anymore. Don't get me wrong, she has a voice to die for, but can anyone see what I'm getting at?

Beautiful voice-so melodious and pure, though it does seem lack the rough, bitter edge given by Elaine Page-the song talks of past life, of longing and pain, whilst also having a string of hope thoughout. Still, this was a gorgoues rendition.

I prefer this version to Elaine Paige. Of course this is done in a studio not live so there's a slight advantage there.

I love the way Rose sings the lower register here though :) It doesn't matter that she sings the high notes rather than belting them like the song was written for her voice and fits her range flawlessly! Great singer!

Elaine Paige beat Betty Buckley to being the "first" to perform it on stage in Cats. Both were OUTSTANDING and would have killed to see either of them perform it back in the day. I was still in the womb, though. Buckley's version, for me, is a bit more electrifying at the verse beginning with "Touch me!" (final verse)
