GMTV nowadays is horribly boring. It was good when it had Power Rangers on a Saturday Morning, but nowadays it's full of crap.
TVAM is okay but personally I think they really need to bring back The Big Breakfast. Nowadays there just doesn't seem to be much to watch on TV in the mornings.
@diamondstudd It was back in the days when ITV was regional franchises. TVAM lost the franchise to broadcast nationwide in the morning and was replaced with GMTV
It looks like a tape from the archives rather than a recording from home, hence no clock but some VT details overlaid instead. TV-AM did indeed have a clock too.
There was a documentary about TV-am called "Storm in an Egg-cup" that was on here until recently. Quite good it was too does anyone know where you can find it here or anywhere on the internet?
Oh my gosh I remember TV AM it was good fun. I used to do the excercises with Lizzie Webb before I went to school. I got a signed photo of her and a letter of her the other week and she said glad you loved TV AM I've had fun doing it for the past 10 years and everytihng she put in the letter wa so sweet. She was so kind to me in the letter she wrote me. I wish ITV brought back TV AM because I hardly watch GMTV very often somtimes I do sometimes I don't. I love Lizzie Webb and TV AM forever xxxx.
Amongst the 'dancers' are Clive James, Paul Gambaccini, Ulrika Jonsson, Dr Hillary Jones, Kim Wilde, Claire Raynor, the shy & retiring Timmy Mallett and Boy George (in the wings).
The 3 presenters on the couch were Lisa Aziz, Kathy Taylor or Roachford (not sure which!) and Kathryn Holloway.
Mark Austin - now of the 6.30 ITV news and News At Ten - on the left as we look. It's the gorgeous Kathy Tayler in the middle of the three on the sofa. Gambo (legend) is only there as he was their film critic/paper reviewer.
Lisa Aziz now co-presents The West Tonight at 6pm Mon-Fri on regional TV.

There was a superb documentary made in 1992 I think as part of BBC2's TV Hell documenting the horrors of making TV AM. It sums up the eighties really.
I think it's funny that Mike Morris said "..and to think they want to get rid of Come Dancing" (which had just gone on BBC)...oops, how right was he - let's see the new GMTV on 5/1/09?
Always makes me sad to see the ending of TV-AM.

There has always been something incredibly disturbing about Timmy Mallett - a fully grown man, behaving like a 5 year old. All the time.

Why in the blue hell did they get rid of this and give us GM Mother f--king TV for?
TV-AM made me want to get up and out of bed. It was so high energy. GMTv made me want to stay in bed.
I know this is a bit of a sent off for the bunch, but watch this clip and then watch the first GMTV on the right.

That's odd - no clock on the screen. I thought breakfast TV programmes like TV-am always used clocks.

Very sad to watch this. TV-am was the best! GMTV is really rubbish. Would be great if we could see TV-am on our screens again.

I'll have a go at doing some ID'ing:

I think that Lorraine Kelly was having nightmarish visions of the dreadful and disgusting GMTV at 5:58 on the video.
