There's always room to grow, and it takes a humble heart be open to personal change. I think they're just trying to shed light on the way that christianity embraces the worldly "dog eat dog" mentality more than we always realize, and we need to take the time and use the practices of spirituality to realize how the church is failing at being Christ-like. As i read scripture I dont do anything but christ in me.You sound like you still in your carnal nature trying to reprogram your mind to have the mind of christ..That isnt how a born again christian see things, at least for me.
