  • i have a 25 inch x 25 inch x27 hight inch tank which is i think about 160 litre plus sump which is 20x 17 x 16 hight. will this skimmer work

  • I actually just bought one of these, and its been runnign for about a week...its still breaking in. Just wondering abouty how long it took for yours to break in? thanks

    awesome skimming

  • I have a 330 gallon FO and think I'm going to go with a SRO 3000 Extermal. I've heard so many people regret getting skimmer too big for the tank. Its rated for up to 400 gallon. I do not have much room underneath. I have 27.23 to a cross beam and 29" to bottom of my tank. How do you get the lid off with only like 1 inch of clearance? Thanks!

  • How high is the water level?

  • I just bought the same skimmer. What level do you keep the foam at? Mine is either too low or too high. Can't seem to get it like yours at that level.

  • thanks

  • great video. i'm planning this same skimmer for my 180 gal reef with a large bio load.

Do you think this one could handle it or should I go with the 5000?

    Thanks,

    Vic

  • @BIGVIC555 this skimmer is boarder line to big for my tank and only works well because I feed a lot and it's max out with fish. These skimmers are rated at a minimum of 150 and up to 300 gallons. You should follow the ratings on these skimmers for tank sizes because going to large will work less affective. For a 180 the SRO-3000 would be good but the SRO-5000 would be over kill and likely counterproductive due to it's 6 inch neck.
