  • SO IF I WEAR LIGHT BLUE JEANS WITH BLACK DRESS SHOES AND BLACK BELT SHOULD I WEAR BLACK DRESS SOCKS? SHOULD THEY BE A SLEEK NYLON OR A COTTON BLEND?

  • That shoe looks good hmmm lol

  • Sometimes I'll wear socks that match my SHIRT. Good things NOT to do are to wear white socks with black pants (unless one is Michael Jackson), or wear brown belts with black trousers and brown socks...

  • Aaron, I will say since you're in the business of fashion consulting you should cover all aspects of men's fashion from top to bottom without personal opinions of what you consider a "FETISH", that's unfair to say people have a fetish if they ask you about socks. Everybody in tune to fashion has a "fetish" with some article of clothing, shoes being one of the biggest fetishes. In other words, don't put people down saying they have a nasty foot fetish because they are asking about socks. Rude.

  • With that being said, I think you are doing a pretty damn good job overall. Your videos are never boring, and I have learned a thing or two from a lot of them. I just think they can be even better, that's all.

  • Bullshit!

Better to match your socks with your tie!

  • you are the gayesy non gay i have seen.. no offense

  • @willyoldfox YES 4 SURE ...HE IS A CLOSET GAY!

  • Aaron do you read GQ ?

In GQ September (Micheal Jackson cover) issue 2009 Page 117. They talk about socks very differently.

  • Ciao Aaron, perche non fai un video che spiega '' come curare le acne e che tipo di crema si puo usare.....???

  • BTW socks always match pants. This does not apply when you are wearing shorts, then you should match your shoes. Also - if you are wearing navy jeans and black shoes/boots, both black and dark blue/navy socks can work since the difference is very slight, but I usually match with the pants. Of course the colors do not need to be 1:1 matching. It's the same tone family that matters. Socks do not need to stand out, they need to help transition from pants to shoes.

  • The problem with your videos that you tell basic stuff that works well for someone who just went out of a trailer but you don't really get into it. For example, in pocket square video you could have showed many ways to fold the square and how it should match with rest of the outfit. In shoes - you could talk a lot and for example tell us when is it ok to wear higher heels for men's shoes, etc...

  • @LatestUFOSightings : I agree. I love his videos, but, I wish he would delve into the more difficult topics. In his "color matching" video, he assumes that we all have taken this supposed art class and understand the color wheel. I think it would be better if you went into more details in some videos, Aaron. In the matching video it might have been helpful if you discussed "hot" colors vs "cold" and what colors fall into those categories, etc. This would give viewers a foundation to work from.

  • How about wearing dark wash jeans with white shoes? what colors should the socks be?

  • I would go with white

  • @AlphaMconsulting WHITE SOCKS SHOULD BE OUT LAWED!

  • You just shouldn't wear white shoes with dark jeans

  • This guy really needs to do something about his image he looks a bag of shite. Try doing the French Fashion houses, forget the US.

  • i like your humor aaron.. keep your jokes coming,

what color socks to wear with sneaker shoes? white?

  • ralph lauren said.. socks should be darker then your pants and lighter then your shoes.

  • the one thing you forgot to mention is that the socks should be crew length or longer. Those black short sport socks aren't dress socks

  • I was watching another fashion advice video where they explained your socks should match your pants. now I'm confused... Or is it OK to either match your socks with your shoes or pants?

  • Yes, it is okay to match your socks to either your pants or your shoes. I was just trying to make it as easy as possible!

  • Thanks for replying! Just finished watching all of your vids, you're awesome!

  • i saw someone match their socks with their shirt color.

  • hahahahahaha

  • I got NOTHING out of this... I expected to see your awesome feet... hence the term,

FOOT FETISH... NOT shoe fetish!! =0 \

NOW kick off your shoes and show us those feet!!! =0-)

  • For Foot Fetishists to be Satisfied, Aaron would need to show his Feet in and out of Shoes

on the Screen. Stop teasing their weak little minds and start teasing them with your goods!

  • How about wearing loafers sockless. I wear mine sockless much of the time. It's very comfortable.

  • This would mean that you would only wear blue socks with blue shoes. Who has those?

  • I am glad you follow my logic! So yes, blue socks = blue shoes! Look my little foot fan, I am just trying to keep it simple for those who don't pay as close attention to their feet or socks.

  • I meant no disrespect by my comment. I was just trying to make the point that blue socks are ubiquitous but yet blue shoes for men are almost nonexistent. I agree with you in that matching your shoes to your socks is a simple rule for those who aren't up on fashion. That's the rule for military uniforms. I do get your meaning there.

  • looking forward to ur new videos

  • Thanks for the tips...my favourite suits, shoes socks styles is by a designer called Paul Smith.

  • I'd be interested to know what your take is on the wearing of patterned socks and when this is and isn't appropriate, also the age old problem of what the heck to wear, in respect of socks, with a dinner suit (or tuxedo as it would be known in your country). Many thanks.

  • Is it too much to do this with tennis shoes too?

  • I've always thought that dark socks should always match with your pants... Black pants + black socks....

  • The main problem with matching your sock with your shoes is that you'll look like you've got booties on! Wearing the same color socks as shoes causes the really nice pair of shoes you're wearing to recede into the background of your ensemble. I understand the argument for the the foolproof route, but if style is your aim, then you are fundamentally wrong IMHO.

  • Thank You for your take on the situation. As stated in the video, I am trying to create a easy way for those who are less concerned about style and more concerned about not looking foolish. Thanks for your oppinion

  • In that case, you have accomplished what you set out to do.

  • Great sense of humor! Glad you're a good sport.

  • Funniest one yet :)

  • The old tradition was to match the sock to the pant to extend length of leg profile. Good info. Thanks.

  • You thought there were lots of shoe fetish guys, you will get a ton of them now concerning your socks video.

  • You may be right. I desperately want to see this guy modeling some of his socks. Please!

  • @verlupII NOT GONNA HAPPEN ......THAT WOULD JUST GET U OFF!!! GO LOOK AT SOME PORNO MY DEAR!
