@gyorfi6 thanks. Highly recommend idols...great guitars. I paid about $250. This is from the first year they were made, which are the better quality idols. They became more cheaply made as time went on.
@adidas331 i know...i've been so busy with other stuff i haven't made time to do any more axe vids. i'll try and get some going. that thing is pretty amazing.
@99voltsdotcom sorry, i think i commented under my own comments. not sure if you'll see it. the 64 is certainly a different beast. i'm partial to the road worns...i'll be waitin. rock on!!!
i know...getting old sucks. i'm 42 now and it's WAY grayer. i started going gray at 18. i'm just thankful it all stayed in...i can always dye it i guess.
I think gray hair is cool, actually. I don't know if I'll get it though because I have red hair. Either way though, i'm just happy that I still have it and haven't started to lose it (knock on wood).
thanks. always trying to get better. there are some AMAZING guitar players on here that just smoke me. check out the users matejsu, sinasl1 (this is the guitar player is Chris Cornell's band), samhillband, MrDarinWarren, Guitarwannabee. i could go on for days.
thanks. i know there a miliion people who can smoke my playing, but morons who randomly trash people and then have no videos themselves piss me off. i guess it's just the way it is on youtube. i appreciate you taking the time to send the nice comment. >>>sending good karma your way>>> :)
its a great distortion pedal from hughes and kettner. it has 2 switchable gains...i have my marshall set to just a little break up and then set the tubefactor so the first gain gives me a nice semi heavy tone and then the second gain gives me a serious amount of liquidy saturation...like a 5150 lead channel. if you start with a clean tone, you can set the first gain to just give you a fuller clean sound. a GREAT pedal.
Hi there. At high gain levels on distortion, would you describe the sound of the JMP-1 fizzy or more or a smooth, creamy sound? Im thinking of getting one thats all..thanks
i would say neither. this is the first marshall product i have owned and when people say the marshalls have their own sound...it really is true. the distortion is nice...not fuzzy at all. it is almost like a midrangey distortion, which to my ears really sounds better (i would never have said that in the 80's). the maxed out gain is nothing like the super saturated sound on modern amps (5150's, etc). when i need that sound i kick on the tc tube factor for the gain boost. LOVE the jmp1.
I like that guitar. I am looking for an Epi LP but I found the most far out looking Idol ever with gold hardware, seems as good as an Epi LP.
