  • I've been playing piano for a little over a month and you pwned me, I have some serious catching up to do :P.

  • @DarkStar1O9 Compete only against yourself :) But challenge yourself :) Good luck!!

  • @thomandy I'm not too far behind you...I'll get there :P

  • Very nice!!

  • Learning fast! I have been playing for 3 months now myself but it seems as though you split up keyboard and piano to give the illusion of faster progress... 3 months piano = 6.5 months, right? I mean it only takes a few days to get used to the feel of weighted keys :p

  • @P90XDoubles Get used to yes, but dynamic IS music :) And to control dynamics and be able to play as you want all the time, well its takes years! :) I didnt think of creating an illusion, its only 3-4months difference anyway :) Good luck on your progress as well!

  • @thomandy

Heh, ok. Yeah I agree, just giving you a hard time.

  • You are very talented dude!!

Answer my question: ¿how many hours of practice per day?

  • Hey you made good progress. Check out my videos, they span over the course of about three years.

  • This is a great video. I can compare my progress with someone now. I think I'll learn the easy version of The Entertainer as well, it sound like fun. I'm not that advanced yet though, I'll give it a bit more time and work on some easier things.

  • one year?

  • i like all the somg you play do you where i can get the sheet music for them all

  • Hi =) I added a link in the Sidebar!:)

  • you´re so funny Thomas!

  • hehe:)

  • Awesome!! Thomas Nice Improvements! Keep it up! 5 stars!!

  • Great! Your so dedicated.

is there any tips for us :P? oh yeah, how long does it take to get good at sight reading?

  • I think that if you practice a little sigh treading everyday you might be very good after some weeks, but really good after a couple of years!

I havnt practiced it, so I Cant sightread very well. I got a video where I play grade 1-2pieces, and you will see how much I suck at it :) hehe

  • i see..that must takes alot of time and practise :/ thx for your opinion :D.

anyway, good progress from you, keep it up :D

  • brilliant! quite a bit of progress, im learning piano as well.

  • Hi :) Thanks :)

    Ah, going well? :)

  • haha you are so cute:)

  • youve been playing around the same time i have

  • Laaaalaaa hilarious dude :) not even your improvements are amazing but your video is amusing too. I can hardly believe we started to learn the piano at the exact time... that was the Amazing Race in 1 year, congrats Thomas.

  • Hey thomas. Nice vid on your progress. Keep on doing it buddy :)

  • Your Report Card after completing your first year semester: 5 Stars. Even your videography skills have developed better and better. This documentary is kind of like looking at the Evolution of Man chart where you see the apes on the left, then getting bigger and taller as you go towards the right, and then you have Homo Sapiens at the right end. You are now a more highly evolved human being. Congratulations! Next year we'll see you in a video from Carnegie Hall in New York City.

  • Haha xD Carnegie Hall?!... Nah, that might be two years away lol... Or more likely, never ;)) But thanks though =)

  • You are really good at piano. Keep up the great work!

  • i can see learning how to play piano in a short period of time. but the question is how did you learn how to "read" music like this so fast. are you some kind of genius

  • Hehe, I actually used 2 hours last Jan to get down the basics, and then I got good at reading music in a month. But Im Far from a genius :P

  • very good for a keyboard

  • wow a collection of pieces hehehe..

  • Thanks for sharing all your hard work and passion!

  • Thomandy! That's a nice report. It's amazing how fast you learn!!!

  • That's really good Thomas..I'm impressed. You are a fast learner.

  • great progress! wow!

    Congrats! :o)

    5 stars!

  • I love the singing!

  • Hi ;)

  • gosh. the first video already shows how a promising musician you are. 3 weeks are 2 hands, and it definitely isn't easy for a beginner. feel blessed to know such a talented friend! Still teacher-less? If yes.. ah. I don't know what to say! Awesomeness.

Make sure you don't lose this passion k? Even though you have other activities around, continue this passion till you breathe your last breath! lol.

(who knows one day you we might see you performing in carnegie hall or somethingXD )

    Cheers!

  • Hi =) Thanks! Yeah, still teacherless. :)

And I wont stop yet ;)

  • Beautiful job, you're so talented!!5*****

  • Your really great Thomas. May be soon I'm going to make my progress report on piano.

  • Thomas, you're awesome! It's unbelievable that you've made such a good progress in such a short period of time. I'm very impressed and proud of you, my friend. :) Keep up the great work! I hope you'll still be so creative and hard-working.

Haha, I love your sense of humour! You've just brought a big grin to my face. :D

Oh, btw, I've known you since 22th June - you uploaded Victor's piano solo then. :)

Best wishes and good luck with further practice! =)

    Daria

  • Keep up the good work, brother :)

  • Thanks ;)

  • You've really made great progress in 1years! Congrats and I hope you continue to acheive your goals.

  • You are amazing on the piano. I enjoyed your playing very much. I can not wait to enjoy more of your playing. Have a great weekend. God bless you and your family.

  • Yeah, its Really Impressive! 5*

  • It's really heartwarming to see and hear how far you've come in just one year. Keep up the great learning and great work!

  • absolutlay wonderful I would be happy to beable to play with two hands LOL . looks like we have a musical genis here hehehe . very proud to know you and listen to you play. cant wait for the next video. oh and your very funny too gave a good chuckle after a hard day thanks!! take care till next time.

  • Thanks :) I wanted to try to ad some funnyness, so Im glad that worked =) Later^_^

  • I would have made a similar journey were it not for school and the limitations of my keyboard.

  • is it my imagination, or did you, somehow, don't put the AMAZING group of christmass songs you made?!?!?!

anyway, the improvement is AMAZING... I kinda play the piano, but I'm not as good as you're at the beginning, andon the end you're a WHOLE master...

I can't wait to see what else do you make...

  • besides thanks for taking the time to check the quallity of the audio and to sync the video with the song, that I'm sure you shoot your videos on different angles playing the whole piano over an over

  • Hi :) Well, the Christmas Medley wasnt really any hard songs, so they wouldnt represent any development :) Thats why :)

And yeah, the quality could have been better, but I its Way better than most others cause most people use their Camera to record. I use a cable, but still that cant be compared to a Pro-Mic Recording of a Grand Piano :) hehe xD

  • You're a wonderful inspiration as well as being an ever-increasing talent. Thanks for letting us revisit these memories for all of us who will someday say,

"Oh, yes, we knew Thomas back when.....(his choir master begged him to take piano lessons!)" : )

  • Wow! This is amazing how much you've progressed. Great work!

  • OMG!!! One year!!! I have been playing the piano/keybord for 6 months and your prograss when it was 6 months is like 30 years for me. . . I Love your videos and just subscribed. . . Please keep the videos coming. . . You have got to be one of the best piano players on YouTube at the moment. . . You are the best!!!. . .

  • LOL@END

    nice progress! ;)

  • wow that was amazing

i wish i was that gd after a year of playing piano

  • You are a very motivated piano learner! Wonderful progress!

  • Thank you :)

  • Haha, yeah, Im not going for a singing-carrier ;D

  • Thomas, this is a great documentation of your progression as a pianist. Very professional one, I might add.

  • Thanks :) Yeah, it took some time to do since I had to re-download every video back from youtube, then the sound didnt work In the Sony Vista, so I had to re-record the sound in Media Player over to Audiocity, convert it and then re-sync all the clips :P haha xD

  • Nice progress! You have talent. I'm keeping my fingers cross for You!

  • Very good improvement :) I'm so proud of what you've accomplished man!

Soon you'll get to the stage of piano where everything you think you know changes XD (that's what happens a little while after you start playing advanced stuff)

I think you should learn a Bach piece next :) After that, I'd suggest the Minute waltz by chopin. It'll help develop your technique even more!

    Take care!

  • Yeah, I want to learn a grade 6 Bach piece which is 2 pages long. I just have to get started :)

I started the Minute waltz when you mentioned it in Okt, but I only learned the 4-5 first bars. I wasn't Very motivated to learn a major piece at that time.

  • LOol Nice ! ^^ You was good ^^

Impressive Turkish march at 3 month !

    So good ^^

  • hmm.... good improvement but fingering is totally incorrect in some pieces such as fur elise... also ur timming needs improvement :D

  • Fingering is basicly up to the player ;)

But, I follow the fingering that where in the sheets I got here on Fur Elise, and sorry to say so but I have no problems with timing :P hehe

  • Haha cav0129, what are you talking about????

  • Yeah, what are you talking about Timing??? cav?

Did you see his latest videos?? The timing is close to professional! So you are way wrong!

This is Awesome Thomas, i think this is Unique, and you are selfthought!

  • fingering used to be importnant when learning piano...but over the years less so teachers have come more to recognize individual differences in hand cordination.Fingering is only a "suggestion" nowadays...

  • Hi =) Yeah, you are right!! CalikoKat :) Fingering works as suggestions, the faster the piece is, the more important to do the correct fingering. But there are also different suggestion based on the arranger and sheet writers, so its a good thing to practice how to find the best fingering for our own hands as well :)

  • You really improved, but you were good right from the beginning as well.

Sorry but I couldnt help laughing when you strated singing :P

  • Mhh, the first pieces you played also sounded very nice! But you've come far in only a year! I hope I can also improve. It's all about training I guess. But mhh..thanks for making this, it's interesting to see your progress in learning.
