@greenISmyWORLD They made a Black version of Crissy as well.Most of the Ideal 'growing hair'dolls-Crissy,Velvet etc came in African-American versions.You can Google the pics easily.Granted,they didn't have Afros or 'natural' hair,but these dolls were first released in 1969.I don't think the 'natural' hair movement was at its height then.And to be fair,it is much harder to mass produce an easy mechanism to make curly hair grow in a credible way.

Sometimes I see real women with ridiculously long hair (like down to the knees) and I always wonder "where do they put that hair when they sit on the toilet", and while I don't necessarily think there is a mandatory age where people HAVE to have short hair, it seems that invariably the woman with such hair are aging hippies with vaguely straight hair (though usually kind of crimped, too).
