Thanks for the comment. My mandolin is made by a English guy by the name of Paul Hathway.You can google him and see a whole load of instruments he makes. I use very thin picks which makes the instrument sound very bright. Also I used the onboard pickup and amplified it for the rvideo, using just a touch of chorus and reverb. And yes, there is no shortcut to practice:) Hope this all helps. Ken

rockcrazyken, not bad at all, been trying to get 'spong' down pat myself since I first heard them play it years ago. First tune is based on the Walls of Liscarrol if I'm not mistaken.
I play the mandolin...just love the instrument!! Really ENJOYED listening!!
