Nirvana is much heavier, the Foo Fighters seem to focus more on alternative than grunge. And Nirvana is (arguably) much better than the Foo Fighters. But I see what you're getting at.

@pwndnoob1 i completely disagree... i think streetlight manifesto gets much more publicity, mainly because catch 22 is nothing without tomas. the only thing catch 22 did that was good was keasby knights but i like most of streetlight's renditions better. if you look at the actual talent in the bands, streetlight is so much better than catch. i wouldnt be comparing them unless your talking about keasby knights because they are two very different bands.
