Why didn't Republicans or Democrats outlaw the production and import of gas-powered cars and coal-and-nuclear plants back in the 1980s? A true patriotic leader like Ralph Nader would have. That would have saved us TRILLIONS of dollars, in both needless waste of resources spent on highly inefficient processes and in cleaning the damage from pollution and climate change.
Capitalism fails. That is why we have millions in prison in the USA and China, because big government forces them to choose between paying for a lawyer they cannot afford, which is illegal because it's extortion, and going to prison.
China is also a rightwing conservative dictatorship. True communism fights for workers, although communism is not optimal either. True mathematically optimized economy (like the Zeitgeist movement) is the answer.
I've seen garbage-separation in real life about 6 times now. All you show is that and landfilling. Where's the solar and wind-powered technology for converting garbage back into oil, like some videos show?
Obama is a rightwing conservative, as are all Republicans and Democrats. Has he outlawed factory farming? Has he removed the stranglehold the two-party dictatorship has had on America and allowed different parties: Greens, Socialists, Communists, and Libertarians, and given them equal media airtime?
Has Obama legalized marijuana-consumption and outlawed unfair tax breaks for religions? No. True progressives and true liberals would.
In Europe, they at least have the AnimalsCount party.
"terror oil?" hahahahaha! Use hyperbole much? DEMOCRATS attack the environment? That's nearly too preposterous to respond to. Didn't the announcer say this program was going on in... SAN FRANCISCO? Uh - excuse me. Isn't that where all the freaky "liberals" are? Do they have an equally comprehensive trash recycling program anywhere in, say, West Virginia? What about Cicero Illinois? Or Phoenix Arizona? Where exactly are republicans doing ANYTHING LIKE this? Pssh. Get Real. Nice video
@echotechworks ps. I think you may have also made another hasty assumption. You indicated that the "heavy lifting" is being done by republicans, however I don't believe you have surveyed the owners of this recycling operation to discover their political values and beliefs. I suspect we would find out that they are democrats. Do you really believe that most or all investors are republicans?
ps. I think you may have also made another hasty assumption. I suspect we would find out that they are democrats. Do you really believe that most or all investors are republicans?
I must confess that it may have been foolish for me to believe that we could enjoy a real exchange of ideas. So far you have rattled off bigoted opinions without offering any meaningful information, examples of your principles at work, or any otherwise illuminating perspective. I have listened patiently and optimistically and have been disappointed. All the best to you EchoTechWorks.
I think it's interesting that republicans have been idle or even anti-alternative-energy, and then once firms are regulated and incentivized by democrats, and innovate accordingly, you would like to credit republicans, as though corporate innovation is a concept that belongs exclusively to republicans. That's like saying that moral values belong exclusively to christianity.
Would you invest millions of dollars developing a technology that could be dismissed from the market by another firm simply because they enjoy a position of control over the market, and can persuade consumers not to have faith in your product, as they single-handedly cause it to fail-to-launch?
A perfectly unregulated and un-incentivized market under republicans did not produced these results. One reason for this, is that corporations have become increasingly short-sighted, focused on short-term gains, and why shouldn't they? How many firms really can afford to make long-term investments that have risks attached, like the market manipulations done by larger firms that exert undue market influence?
I think your understanding of the world may be a bit short-sighted, and I think you may have an inflated appraisal of your own perspective on the world. Corporations are good at innovating and creating technology, but who should decide what technology we endeavor to create? You believe we should be focused on drilling more crude oil, but in this video I think it is clear that it was smarter to direct our innovate corporate resources toward alternative energy sources.
Can there be any doubt that this system has recently fallen into unbalance, tipped heavily toward the power of corporations? Can there be any controversy in asserting that this has produced largely volitaile successes and failures? I think it is clear that we are seeing a much-needed re-balancing of the system, where government is making up for a diminished presence over the past 8 years.. and it's working. All three entities are now doing what they ought to do to produce optimal results.
Don't get me wrong, government is slow to act, acts according to the median voter, is inefficient, and does not innovate well. It's a system of three failures, and all three entities are required to clean up after each other's failures. Government, for-profit, and not-for-profit entities excel and fail in unique ways, and form a balance that is needed for us to truly maximize value realization.
It is a function of what the market will bear, and individual consumers do not have access to perfect information. This is why the role of government is important to regulate monopolies, cost externalization, implement mechanisms to increase consumer protection and accurate information, etc. We need our corporations to act responsibly and earn an honest profit. Left unchecked and unregulated, this is not the outcome we can expect.
@jamesearlywine Democrats have had over 1 Trillion Dollars to create jobs NO it was used for Payoffs instead, Payoffs to Unions and nothing has come from it! Liberal Democrats think they should be the should be the arbiter of success, making products, distribution of services, owning land, YOU Obama, Liberal Democrats (Why are Democrats now calling themselves Progressive)
Maybe because our Politicians are following a system that isn't yet established to how it should be. They are following a system based on the Currency. Instead of using that 1 trillion and giving it directly for the people, they rely on Corporations to fix the problem.
@jamesearlywine they change the name to keep people from learning of the destruction they create! ALL things Obama for 2 yeas Disaster for the economy and the wold! The Display of incompetence is the Liberal Democrat Party is mot likely outright deliberate destruction of the economy for take over. People with no food will beg for anything and give up all for it! When is enough power for Liberal Democrat Obama.
@jamesearlywine You and others like you just have NO clue how all of what is the USA since 1776 is all about! You think if only if we can change these few thing it would be better. NO it will NOT because you thing if the right people were in change it would be better. It is not the people but the Laws that make us equal under them that is what works.
@echotechworks You may believe that unbridled capitalism for capitalism's sake is the holy grail of economic outcomes, and the efficiency of corporations gives them credibility to lead in all things, but we can see that there no perfectly competitive markets, businesses do create barriers to entry and exert undue market control. Firms do externalize their costs, and the price of (properly or perceptually) differentiated products is not a function of their actual cost to produce.
@echotechworks It is a mistake to think that this always occurs naturally. The reason it does not, is that businesses can externalize the costs of their product, and not pay those costs. Those costs are borne by a citizenry that, as individuals, does not always have the wherewithall to understand and consider these costs. That is one of the primary functions of government, for people to pool resources and interact with the world as a collective entity.
@echotechworks A business processes the environmental variables, and determines their own actions (investment, operations, etc) according to these constraints, to achieve optimal individual outcomes. It is important to note that what is collectively rational, is not always the same as what is individually rational. The purpose of regulatory environment is to carve out a set of constraints such that these two rationalities are well-aligned.
@echotechworks I think you show your ignorance when you make assumptions about me and the particulars of my education. I would be glad to share with you more about my educational background upon request. It's one thing to be passionate about your opinions and beliefs, it's quite another to be a bigot. There are various factors of the environment, in which a business operates, Businesses operate according to what is individually rational, for profit maximization.
Republicans are investing because opportunities were created by Democrats who adjusted policy and research investment. Republicans strategy has been to control the oil, democratic strategy ahs been alternative oils. By altering the political and regulatory environment, investment incentives are created. Whoever posted the comment under this video is ill-informed. :P
@jamesearlywine You are as ill-informed as the Union Propagandist teachers that provided you with a narrow view of the world you think you live in!
The history of the world is recycling, The first caveman to modern man has reused and reused.
People make technology happen not government Ass Wipes. Liberal Democrats have been supporting Terror Oil since the 70's by legislating our access and management so now control of our economy is held by others, China will be drilling off Cuba
Where does it seperate the paper money from the trash? I don't know about any of you, but I have thrown money away, and found it in the trash. Usually with a napkin at a restaurant.

hey dont forget the garbage women its not just men also have female trash truck drivers. so if we threw away paris hilton and lindsy lohan and the kardashions could they be recycled LOL i once seen a blow up doll at my transfer place wonder if they recycle that LOL
Why even bring politics into it? Both parties FAIL because both are controlled by the oil billionaires, and our economy is based on fossil fuels. Alot of times....like in Michigan where I live , we have good ideas like windfarms but guess who votes against it? Thats right, dirtbag politicians of every color. Green fuel could be our future but the real reason we diont have it is because Mr Rockefeller wouldn't have control anymore. They are the real problem and they are treasonous people.
Many people look down the waste industry work. Those eople are wrong! The waste industry (garbage and recycling) they hep us ALOT of thing, they save the enviroment, they use garbage to recycling new product for us, will you say recycled produck is shit?! And the use garbage in landfill to biodegrade new soil and land for use to build building, and garbage for fuel and energy souce!
We should be investing more in waste prevention then we wouldn't need to recycle it! Watch Ro J - "It Was Madness" incinerator protest song :)
