  • this song needs to be louder, its alot more epic when its louder :p

  • I say the first 40 minutes of this movie are amazing and live up well to it's 2 predecesors, after that it gets a bit boring and too long in my opinion, but they shoulda still made at least one sequel to see how great the character's could've grown.

  • It's very good comics!!!!

  • This movie is far better than people give it credit for. It's the true Superman III. I'm sad that WB chose to scrap the sequel and reboot, but I can understand. I'm just glad this film was able to be a satisfying cap to the original Superman movie franchise, unlike the awful messes that followed II.

  • Maaan, this opening was thrilling

  • Pure Cinematic Genius I believe!!!!

  • Superman titles for people with ADHD.

  • As the earth moves through the universe we shall enter a sweet spot where energy and light straight from the center of the universe will fill our atmoshphere, and we all will become Super Men and Super Women. Living virtuous lives and doing things we only dreamed were possible. It's all coming soon. Stay with us, here we go.........

  • this film is totally underrated as part of the superman mythos, i'd put this film as #3 in the sequence of films- superman, superman 2 and superman returns, 4get bout superman 3 and 4 as the rubbish they are..

  • So poor quality that I can't read opening credits properly even in full screen

  • Kalerp was bern on the plerrnet krypterrn. He sherp into spersh on a spersh sherp and trervelled to ersh to become Shuperderp.

  • he landed on florida?

  • I honestly don't understand why people didn't accept this movie. I mean...come on...Superman: The Movie had some ridiculous moments worse than any in this one...like when Superman reverses Earth's rotation to turn back time...I mean...COME ON!

  • @JSSTyger superman has a kid it was just trying to make him relatable

  • Too bad the movie didn't live up to its opening titles...

  • this song gives me goosebumps

  • i dont know why but everytime the intro starts it always makes me cry and makes me realize that i can do anything and be great

  • @titesonpiumonademi can you please translate it?

  • No doubt the dislikes are the people involved in the Superman recrap coming in 2013.

Routh was not Reeve but he should have done sequel.

  • @videozfann I think they're gonna use the original Superman theme in the new movie. I am the biggest Christopher Reeve fan and although I agree with your comment that Brandon should've done the sequel, I am still looking forward to the new movie in 2013.

  • Personally I thought that John Ottman's score to this Superman version was a little close to perfection compared to John Williams' original score from the first Superman movie, which was much more memorable and remarkable as hell!

  • TOBEY MEGRYER IS A BITCH LOWLIFE ACTOR THAT HAS NO BALLS AND HATES ACTING IN REAL MOVIES AND MUCH RATHER BE A FAT ASS FUCK A REAL ACTORS THAT STILL RULE TO DAY IS AL PACINO JACK NICHOLSON MARK HAMILL THE GUY THAT IS BATMAN ANIME VOICE CLINT EASTWOOD THE NEW ACTOR PLAYING SPIDERMAN WHY TOBEY IS A PUSSY LOWLIFE "ACTOR" AND DID NOT DO HIS JOB WHY HE HATES IT ANYWAY MOVING ON HENRY CAVILL ROBERT DENIRO SYLVESTER STALLONE ARMAND ASSANTE 1 OF MY PERSONAL FAVORITE ACTOR AND ALL ACTORS FROM 1940/1960

  • AMEN BROTHER FOR SUPERMAN BATMAN IN OUR MINDS THEY GIVE US THE LIGHT TO BETTER OUR SELF AND BE GOOD PEOPLE FOR SUPERMAN FATHER SAD IT BEST IN TRUTH OF WORDS THAT ALL WE WANT IS TO BE GREAT PEOPLE FOR WE ALL HAVE GOOD WE JUST NEED THE LIGHT TO SHOW US THE WAY

  • to the 19 humans GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE AND STICK YOUR HEADS UP YOUR ASSES SEE IF IT FITS for you are HATERS of DC COMICS if you did like SUPERMAN you would not dislike this so all of you 19 people are POSERS for DC COMICS and SUPERMAN and BATMAN are GODS in there own right and there forth RULE for if it was not for the MAKERS that gave life to SUPERMAN there would be no TRUE ART OF BADASS EPIC BEAUTIFULLY WELL DONE HARDCORE COMIC BOOKS IN THE DC / MARVEL WORLD SO ON SO FORTH ON THIS PLANET

  • yes man!!! you're not the only one...

  • This opening theme just kicks so much ass, not even Star Wars can even put up a good fight.

  • @TrueDiox TOUCHE thats french

  • @HEAVYMETALGODS86feb9 I know... Appreciate the heads up, though... I guess :P... By the way, I totally agree with you: Superman & Batman > Any other heroes. And, I feel for Chris Bale´s fans everywhere (though I just find the guy to be a "Tobey" Maguire-level douchebag, only way more talented... Just a thought), but Superman >>>>>> Batman & everyone else. So, I´ll drink to hardcore comic books everywhere... And to heavy goddamn metal.

  • the best scene in the movie was the opening XD

  • Whoever disliked this video is an idiot

  • I'd like to say a fond farewell to Christopher Reeves because he didn't really die... he just went home.

  • @Healertone He is and always be the Man of Steel. Welcome home, Christopher Reeve. Welcome home.

  • @Healertone Yeah, He went to planet Krpton

  • @Healertone no he died... what are you smoking?

  • @Healertone

It's Reeve, not Reeves... i don't know why, but soooooo many people think it's ReeveS :D

  • @Healertone Damn straight.

  • 0:00-0:57 That piece of music will echo through the hospital the day my son is born lol

  • superman news: superman man of steel in cinema's june 2013 Henry Cavill as

Clark Kent / Superman Russell Crowe as

    Jor-El Amy Adams as

Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as

    General Zod

  • This music makes you want to be a better person. Am I the only one who thinks that?

  • @hypercc1 No, you're not the only one.

  • @hypercc1 Your not alone. ..."He'll never be alone".-Jor-El placing the tutor crystal in baby Kal-El's Starship from Superman The Movie 1978

  • @zenjim007 SUPERMAN and BATMAN have a lot in common its cool yes i dont have KRYPTON SUPERPOWERS it would be a HONOR AND badass epic cool to be a GOD/ THE MAN STEEL and save my BEAUTIFUL PLANET i call ... HOME i am only HUMAN like BATMAN still i would do extreme good and get all evil off my planet for SUPERMAN BATMAN lost there loved ones and so did i lost my BROTHER to MURDER and and my UNCLE to CANCER and my FATHER to a HEART ATTACK it make MANS PAIN IN HIS SOUL SO BEYOND IT CAN BE IN WORDS

  • @HEAVYMETALGODS86feb9 I know and share your pain. I lost my girl friend I loved so much to a horrible and senseless car accident; my dear niece was murdered : helped carry her casket and my little sister died as a baby. Life can be cruel and yet full of beauty at the same time; perhaps we can emulate the wisdom of these mythical heroes by calling deep within ourselves the strength and values that they hold dear to their hearts and do what we can fighting for our world.

  • @hypercc1 Damn right you`re not the only one!

  • @hypercc1 - That is something I can definitely agree with. Excellent comment.

  • @hypercc1 There is a certain 'uplifting' quality to this theme.

  • @hypercc1 If only Hans Zimmer would remix this theme for Man of Steel.

  • @hypercc1 Not at all, brother. John Williams pretty much summed up Superman's appeal in a piece of music.

  • great theme! also the plane rescue scene is the best, even its mostly CGI

  • lex luthor and his friends (17) dislike that song !! haha

  • Props for trying to be reminiscent of the great original intro .... But this simply doesn't have the same oomph! What made the first intro so great was that you had names like Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman, Christopher Reeve, Terrence Stamp, Mario Puzo, John Williams, and Richard Donner flying at you ... That is why it still remains the gold standard to which every other film in the superhero genre is measured against.

  • Comment removed

  • @BadgerinSC that is most ingnorant and the most dumbass, irrelivent, comment I have ever seen.

  • Funny how in 2006 they had to go back in time to 1978 to use music written by John Williams. Why couldn't Jay-Z or Will Smith or Kanye West have created some original music for this film, becasue we all know negroes make the greatest everything, right? Oh, that's right, the above mentioned clowns can't even read music.

  • The music is good in this one because its basically all based on the original; just like they recycled the originals Jor-el played by Marlon Brando. The costume here is just plain awful and sad looking; it looks like it was puked out of a rubber doll factory as opposed to the Kryptonian clothing placed in the ship by kal-el's mother to be spun by Martha Kent later into the Superman costume. Then there is the cast; most in this version are nobody s; where as the Original had blockbuster stars.

  • Does not have the impact of the original had with the action ace #1 comic book reading and the fill the entire screen S Superman emblem in the original and huge sounding swoosh of the credits. Singer is just a wannabe and Donner is the The Master. Reeves was the ultimate Superman in looks, style and the way he carried himself; every other actor was just a cheap imitation in comparison. If you dare think I am wrong; look at the box office figures; they work in Christopher Reeves favor!

  • This intro I think makes justice of the original of 1978! They respected the style and music. The actor did a very good job I think. Its not easy to come after Chris Reeve!

  • Epic, Inspiring

  • The intro of Superman The Movie from 1978 is waaay more awesome than this! Besides John Ottman composed this theme and it's basically the same theme as John Williams epic, with a slightly different sound to it. Christopher Reeve IS Superman, I find this movie great though, but not as fantastic as the older Superman movies.

  • I think they may be making athother one with super girl in it I don't really know but I'm guessing

  • The movie is quite good but the opening credits are awesome.

  • Unlike many people apparently, I liked Superman Returns. Still pisses me off though how disparaging the makers were in not being able to get rid of John Williams' credit for the classic Superman theme in the title sequence fast enough.

  • I have to say as a Superman fan it's the little things that matter. If they decide to NOT use this intro music for the new Superman movie, it will be crap.

  • @MaxBialystock No, that isn't true at all. If they skip it, too bad. But it won't be a bad movie because of that. It's just stupid to think like that. It's a good score, but if they can come up with something better, why not?

  • @ValenciaFan1 I agree, the theme may be iconic, but they have proven that new scores can be on par if not better than others. Though MaxBialystock did kinda jump the gun and not think about other important things..oh say like...plot?...characters?...the Star Wars prequels had great music...it still sucked..think about that

  • bryan singer is a genious

  • PURE EPICNESS TO SAY THE LEAST

  • This and the first Superman film are still the best films ever based on Superman. I have high hopes for the new one but I really am not sure about it as of right now. I loved Brandon Routh as Superman and If I ever made a Superman TV show, I'd ask him to reprise the role.

  • The best part of the movie. It's all downhill from here, folks!!

  • "Superman Returns" wasn't a bad movie, but Warner Bros. should've thought long and hard before they made it. None of the casting was bad, but it didn't measure up, and Bryan Singer just didn't bring the same versimilitude that Richard Donner did to his movies. But at least John Williams gave us some new music.

  • @cubdukat The score wasn't actually made by John Williams. Another composer did. I believe his name is John Ottman or something like that.

  • @DCH13000 True, but Williams did provide a couple new themes. Also, Singer approached Williams about doing a score, but he turned him down because he was scoring "Munich" (?) and had already turned down Richard Donner for the new cut of "Superman 2." He actually recommended John Ottman to Singer.

It's not the first time he's done that. He did the same thing with "Jurassic Park 3"--wrote new themes that other composers used. Hopefully he'll do at least that much for "Man of Steel."

  • there is no one stronger than Son Goku!

  • SUPERMAN made me believe a man can fly.

SUPERMAN RETURNS made my believe a film can lie.

  • what song 0:00-0:56

  • Marlon Brando can't be replaced as Jor-El.

  • @etiscool1

I think you can. For gods sake the man has been dead 7 years now. You cannot seriously want another tired retread of the post Donner movies can you?.

Tell you what though, if you're that keen on a Superman film with CGI treated footage of dead actors...

Lets the save money and bring back George Reeves!!!. We can paste him into new scenes cobbled together from the old tv shows.....

  • At least it is not a goddamn prequel

  • El peor intro de todos los tiempos sin dudas !!!

  • Worst Superman movie ever.

  • Now if only this movie had been in 3D...

  • Best Intro Ever

Can you believe Russell Crowe is playing Jor El in Man of Steel

    Marlon Brando Is Jor El

  • @pyro2020 well marlon brando cant live forever u have to make new movies for the new audience man i love the first superman and i want to love the new man of steel as well!

  • @pyro2020 Can you believe Brandon Routh playing Superman in Superman Returns

    Christopher Reeve is Superman.

And just like Marlon Brando, HE IS DEATH. Get over it already.

  • @pyro2020 Marlon Barndo is dead

  • @pyro2020 I think Russell Crowe is a great choise for playing Jor-El. Just because one person has played the role before doesn't mean it's impossible for someone else to do the role justice, which is exactly what I think Crowe will do.

The Man of Steel and the Amazing Spiderman are movies that I simply can't wait for!

  • @pyro2020 Marlon Brando created the character because he was the first to play it, but it is time for another generation of actors to embrace the mythology. Back then, it was amazing, but today, they can make a better story with better visual effects and improve acting which was lacking in the lasts. In 2012, I have really high expections indeed. The music gave birth to Superman too. I hope it'll be as good as the last Batmans, but not similar... well!

  • @sayenshin The character existed looooong before Brando came along.

  • @TheDoomArt I should have said ''first created on screen''

  • @sayenshin You'd still be wrong.

  • @pyro2020 He's an actor. He's an actor who played Jor El. Also, he's dead. What do you want them to do?

  • @pyro2020 I like Russell Crowe, and I can't wait to see how he portrays Jor El. If he doesn't do too well of a job, it won't matter much, because Marlon Brando didn't get much screen time to make a big impact anyway.

  • @pyro2020 Yeh, too bad Brando's been dead for a while. STELLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

  • @pyro2020 It makes me sick.

  • @pyro2020 i wonder if he'll make his accent irish like he did to robin hood lol

  • fucking good movie

  • Never had this much fun watching the intro credits.

  • 0:49 - 0:55 OMG star

  • the parody of christianism but good cgi

  • its just like the original series of superman but instead they took out a bit of the first part of the theme song

  • I truly hate what Zack is doing to Supe! :-(

  • Comment removed

  • huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡superchileeeeeee YA POOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo chita la payazada

  • best opening theme ... EVER. go rent supes 1, 2, and return and you'll get the full picture. singer disregards 3 and 4 and starts this one after 2...

  • This and the plane rescue sequence are the best parts of the movie.

  • @arnyjk good scene. but one thing bothers me and thats weight displacement. wouldn't an object of his size putting so much pressure on something just go straight through it? I know it's sad but it really bothers me when i see that scene. but as i said i still love it. torn!!! lol

  • @arnyjk the best part or the ONLY FUCKING GOOD THING OF THE MOVIE

  • @arnyjk the best part in this movie were the end credits

  • @arnyjk if they had jsut showed this and the plane rescue scene I wouldve been satisfied.

  • @arnyjk WRONG.. end credits are

  • marlon brando ftw!!!!!!

  • I disliked Superman ever since he turned back time for Lois Lane.

Maybe he didn't realize it, but he erased my only sexual experience when he did that.

    Thanks a lot Super fucker

  • @IVatworky L-M-F-A-O!

  • @IVatworky loser

  • Superman titles for people with ADHD.

  • I remember the months before this movie came out, everyone was hyped for the first Superman movie in over a decade the commercials were inescapable, especially the ones telling everyone to go and rent all 4 originals (that was before we knew Returns ignored 3 and 4) everyone did, myself included (my favorite was the second one) i liked this movie maybe cause i had never seen a Superman movie on the big screen before i'll have to rewatch it soon to see how it holds up

  • I get the chills from this theme, seriously no other theme gives you this much sense of, i can accomplish anything :D

  • Goosebumps each and every time

  • James Howard Newton is really good, but usually the movie he composes the music for doesn't get any award... Alan Silvestri is great too, but he should definitely stick to Captain America. Maybe one musical composer that nobody thinks is Howard Shore, the one that made the Lord of the Ring soundtrack. I know he could do it and Nolan gotta think of him. Otherwise, they could try someone new who has great music potential and can make things epic!

  • I am glad that they remake the whole story through other movies. The cast is very great, the producer is Nolan, the storywritter is Goyer and the director is Snyder. The only thing I am waiting for is who is gonna make the soundtrack of the movie? because this is an essential element for an amazing movie. I would have love John Williams again but he's becoming too old. Hans Zimmer could be a great pick, but he makes sad and dark music, which is not the right type for Superman

  • I thought this was a good movie, don't t know why it was disliked.

  • I was really surprised how many people disliked this movie. I thought it was the best in the series, and I've seen all the others multiple times since childhood. I don't know what people's beef with this movie is other than "I didn't like it," or "it was bad"

  • Brandon Routh should have been Superman in the new movie, he was perfect to replace Christopher Reeves, had all the looks , mannerisms, the talk , everything was spot on some one dropped the ball there

  • Love it or hate it. It was still wayyyyy better than superman III and IV

  • I just can't believe the studios are so quick to deem this movie a faliure. I know this movie was a success, but these guys are focusing on the money it didn't make. Honestly, it wasn't bad. I enjoyed it.

  • Its called "The Planet Krypton"

  • What is the name of the song at the very begining where Marlon Brando is speaking?

  • I was shocked. I didn't think they were gonna use it for this movie!!

  • This sequence was just a blast...sadly the rest of the movie couldn't keep up.

  • @supermariosunshine64 Yeah this opening theme ALMOST made the movie worth going to see.

  • R.I.P christopher reeve,best superman ever.

  • I wish Im superman!!

  • All I can think of when hearing this wonderful music is Christopher Reeve legend!

  • Did you see the planet at 3:06-3:08? It looked like the Halo planet blowing up. Someone must have ticked off Master Chief.

  • 3:10 is the best part, very epic and heroic feeling

  • fuck the smallville haters. Smallville was amazing

  • Christopher Reeve was always the best Superman. But Tom Welling comes in at a VERY close second and I think it's bullshit that he's not being cast as Clark in the new movie.

  • Zack Snyder, the world is watching. Don't mess up like Sucker Punch. Please..

May the Sun provide you strength like SuperMan.

  • @DiarySG shut up geek

  • The 1978 opening credits was sooooooooooooo much better!!

  • @jph8477 I like the fact that they tried to make these ones just like that.

  • Awesome, But nothing like John Williams

  • I'm sorry Youtube and I don't mean any offense, but you could never do this opening scene justice. You have to see it in a movie theater to get the full "shock and awe" feeling.

  • @smallfry8199 True. Too bad this was the most exciting part of the movie. lol

  • @smallfry8199 so true! This was waaay to cool and better in theater! Actually this whole movie is theater material!

  • The intro is called the planet krypton

  • What's this intro score called? It's really beautiful

  • What a let down. This movie should've been called "Superman, the Deadbeat Dad and Stalker".

  • After that epic opening, I was expecting Christopher Reeves but was utterly dissapointed.

  • I think this was the best part of the movie lol. The musical score is classic and EPIC. I hope the sequel is much better...

  • Unfortunately, this was the only memorable scene in the entire movie. Kudos to Christian Brando for his voice-over work.

  • i hope they keep this music for the next movie

and keep the same outfit .ive read somewhere that superman will will be dressed in a black and blue jump suit...i hope thats bullshit

  • Didn't know you could film so close to a supernova and survive.

  • Excellent intro for a crappy movie :(

  • Never get tired of this movie.

  • When I saw this at the movies, the explosion at 1:06 scared the hell out of me!

  • @jacksonkidd lol same here, i jumped a bit !

  • 15 people works for ZOD

  • Jor-El's quote to superman, superman used his quote to his son at the end of the movie

  • Too bad this movie sucked ass, even though I love Superman!

  • Overkill.

  • Sad they wont use Brandon Routh for the next one, i did like him as Superman. The next guy is sort of...meh.

  • @Keewaf finally someone who also liked him as Superman! Henry Cavill will have to prove himself and Tom Welling is horrible. At least Routh somewhat looks and acts like Chris Reeves

  • @Theguitardude30 Exactly! Ugh, i was never into Smallville because of him. I think they could have found someone better for that show. I hope Henry Cavill won't ruin the next Superman movie for me. D:

  • @Theguitardude30 dude whatever routh made superman look like a giant pussy. you do realize welling was playing superboy the whole time

  • I just re-watched Superman I and II, and I have to say Bryan Singer pretty much ripped off everything Richard Donner did. There's a difference between an homage or an "unofficial" sequel and just being lazy. He took dialogue, locations, music, credits sequences, set design, I mean dang. Now I dislike that movie even more than I did before and that's unfortunate because I still think Brandon Routh was the perfect find for the part.
