  • I never got how this band's annoying noise gets credit for being oldschool goth. Fields of the Nephilim, The Cure, Sisters of mercy, Christian death all wipe the floor with this generic droning.

  • Anyways.. can anyone tell me what the term 'it's in the can' means? other that going to the bathroom..... i'm not quite sure.

  • @VanillaNyourIceCream As in "It's finished" in film terms, film used to be stored in 12 inch 'cans'.

  • Magnificent Depravity!

  • How To Start Internet Goth Fights

    1-Claim Marilyn Mansons is/isn't goth.

2- Call a goth an emo, or an emo a goth.

Let the hilarity ensure. Works every time. No matter how old people get.

  • @theyforcedmetosignup

Marilyn Manson isn't goth. He's fag.

  • @AnonymousGameTag you wanna start some shit bro? AW MAN FELL FOR IT

  • @theyforcedmetosignup MARILIN MSON IS DA BST GOTHICS ARTIST. PROOF: HE DRESS IN BLACK AND DOES METAL. GOTHS LISTN TO METAL, NOT SOM SHITY 80'S BAND CALLED BAUHAUS>.< SO MUCH FAXKES!

  • @KilledByLifeItself I enjoy listening to marilyn manson... but dude, wholeheartedly, you are freakin crazy.

  • @KilledByLifeItself You're obviously trolling and fail at it miserably. Please try harder.

  • @KilledByLifeItself ... Please, kill yourself. You're a shame for goth movement.

  • @KilledByLifeItself when you get this many comments back you know your wrong, and these were the fuckin originals, so if you dont like this then you can forget about goth all together, and why are all the comments about arguments?

  • @Nyce2Everyone and @NovaProspect11 don't know bout my sarcarsm. Nuff said.

  • Are people still goths?...

  • @bricebru22 goths ain't punks so no, they are no longer goths (if they were), then again, some "gothic" traits remain

  • @bricebru22 Hell yeah.

  • God like..

  • I like, I love it.

  • Get over this "goth, not goth enough, too emo" bullshit. It's bitchin music. That's what counts. I can't understand for the life of me this need & obsession with labeling ones self & others. I dare any of you to try & label me based solely on my musical tastes without ever having met me. Pathetic & trite.

  • @MsSalome83 I am a goth & proud to say it! And Peter Murphy Rocks! Awesome song! ♥

  • Stop attacking Emos. You're giving goths bad rep :P

  • Peter Murphy is a musical god!

  • I agree with the second top comment. I was born in 1999 , and I know if I had been born in the 80' s there would still be some crappy music , although a lot of better music , but my mom wouldn't let me listen to stuff like Bauhaus....

  • Ahh Bauhaus... I'm home again.

  • Why The Fuck Is There A ONE DIRECTION Ad For A Bauhaus Video -.-

  • I <3 Bauhaus! Peter Murphy's voice is so holy and strong. (BITES'N'KISSES DARKROSE)

  • im goth on the inside

  • What does to be in parties mean?

  • @nazisucksass

  • @VanessaMega86 wow. thanks. Very useful!

  • @Dickdale666 this isn't goth, it;s just great music. Goth has nothing to do with music.

  • @Dickdale666 Only if you're not an emo.

  • @Shishkaraz exuse me im emo and now im crying f u

  • @catsbats92 Lol :3

  • @Dickdale666 Of course it's OK for you to listen to any type of music you want. If it moves or "Speaks" to you, go for it!

  • @Dickdale666 Listen whatever you like, don't care for others and their limits... music is music, it's good if you like it, it ain't if you don't, all the other categories are waste of time

  • @Dickdale666

Music is to everyone free! LOL

  • @Dickdale666 absolutely not. you're fucked.

  • @nerdauthentic I know i am, your'e a 30 year old virgin who jerks off to Onision.

  • @Dickdale666 what...

  • @Dickdale666

It doesn't matter if you're goth.

Music can be heard my everyone.

  • @Dickdale666 I'm a Goth, it's okay. You're Welcome.

  • @RetroFarmer69 I don't see how you are a goth . I grew up Goth in NYC clubs and we didnt listen to Marlilyn Manson. You don't look Goth or anything wtf dude?? What clubs do you go to? I havent seen a real goth in NYC in yrs, maybe you wish you are goth and you are rly emo, plz don't be jelly of us old folks cuz you have no music worth shite.

  • @Karunadevidasi It's true Marilyn Manson is really the opposite of anything goth. But I have a problem with the last line. "Don't be jelly of us old folks". I'm 14 - but due to my parents since I was around 7 I've loved Christian Death, Bauhaus, Skeletal Family, etc... just because you're young doesn't mean you can't like gothic rock.

  • @Karunadevidasi First of all I'm from London, second of all the picture of me was from years ago and third of all I listen to bands like The Cure, Sioxsie and the Banshees etc. I listen to Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie and that sort of stuff but I know it isn't Goth, it's Industrial. And I am nothing like an Emo, I cant stand emos. I'm the guy who goes around telling them to man the fuck up, lol. I don't consider myself a Goth, I'm just closer to Goth then anything else, not just musically.

  • @Dickdale666 Whats the heck's gonna happen to you if you do? Do you think Dracula himself will knock on you door and rip your innards out for listening to firkin amazing music?

  • @aceofclubskid Yes. Yes i do.

  • I saw them when they came to Mexico the firt time and it was amazing. They are one of the best bands from England. regards!!!

  • oh god, I'm gonna die... this is so beautiful, why am I born in the era of crappy fabric pop instead of this awsomeness?! even Marilyn Manson was at his best this year, fuck my life... SRSLY! BEING BORN 1996 SUCKS DONKEY BALLS!!! thumbs up if you where born to late to a world that doesn't care...

  • @0Skinny0Puppy0 You should be grateful that you are born into a generation that has youtube readily available to share music like this. So shut the hell up, stop feeling sorry for yourself and just enjoy what you have.

  • @NQYdon thats what I'm not greatful for e__e I would have loved to live in a era with record shops still in business. I'm actualy not feeling THAT sorry for myself, ''fuck my life'' has just become a standard thing for me and a friend to say XD

  • @0Skinny0Puppy0 do we look like we care?

  • @0Skinny0Puppy0

I agree that the music we have today isn't half as amazing as what it was back then, ... but you shouldn't care about that, the best music was always underground, and underground will never die off like mainstream fads. Be happy that even in this age and time, you have access to that which lies under the common mainstream earth, and notice how timeless it is.

  • @koRnkitty Hey, Michael Jackson never died!... Wait...

  • @Ca11ingBird101 Haha :P

  • @koRnkitty The problem with people these days is that they whine about not being born in a time when they could have appreciated the underground culture of the time, failing to understand that they are missing on the one happening around them. Exactly what you said man.

  • @0Skinny0Puppy0 I'm also born in 1996. I missed a lot but I'm thinking that with so many hating pop music, some will hopefully stand up and make something better.

  • This video gives me a Lost Boys feeling ~_~

  • padre de la musica gotica

  • need proof rednecks are awesome? two words: Unknown Hinson

  • Ohhhh to the Goth daze of my youth.....what a miss-spent youth!!! I loved the band at this time

  • Would Suede have existed without this?

  • Best Bauhaus by far - My sister in law went out with Danny Ash in 80s - remember the Hurst picking her up for dates very well. Saw the boys play in Northampton many times before any recognition.

    An old B'stard

    TC

  • @Tiger8231 Made a right tw@t of myself at Nene college asking Danny Ash (pre Bauhaus fame) if he plucked his eyebrows or if they were naturally like that. Two years later turned down the chance to design a logo for Duran Duran when John Taylor (the drummer) came a begging to our graphics dept in Brum. Doh! Lol.

  • I grew up in the 80's listening to this music. People classified us as Death Rockers or Mod's, neither of which seemed appropriate. True, some of us did ride Vespas but I would hardly call us Mod. The stereotype that we were depressed confused kids sitting in the dark around a candle was so far removed from the happiness we shared. We just rejected the idea that we all should assimilate and be "popular". We dressed like we did more to say "stay away" than to be rebellious.

  • @avnostlga ... The correct genre at the time was called, "New Roe", short for "new romance", which was, of course, born out of, and a offshoot of, but not considered proudly (in other words, the new roe's didn't like the relation), of "new wave".

  • Comment removed

  • ...and was at least 10 years before death rock was termed.

  • @sooperdoopercoolguy I should have included that Death Rockers to us were those who liked bands that came out on the Earache label. (Ref: Grindcrusher) We called them Death Rockers. Even New Romance was a term not heard until the mid 80's.

  • I really love Peter Murphy's voice <3

    dreamy

  • New friends (Goth) recommended Bauhaus. Let's see how I fair.

    ...

    Did I see M. Bison?

  • @KyrPadelhSkupidi no bud, peter murphy, lol

  • Never heard of bauhaus before yesterday, but this song is truly amazing!

  • @LutherWallander You wrote that you've never heard this bands music...you've missed alot. Still time to catch up,they have fantastic songs you'll be amazed. My favourite is ' In the Flat Fields.'..its awesome check it out.

  • @NicBunnymen yes indeed, I missed a lot, but anyway I did some research though in the meantime :) and I found some superb songs like passion of lovers and who killed mister moonlight and like you said In the Flat Fields is pretty awesome :)

  • Like Homer Simpson would say: "WHOOOOO!!! I LIKE MUSIC!"

  • wow amazing bass,

  • Splendida

  • Deep

  • I had totally forgotten Bauhaus! Cutting edge nearly 30 years later - stunning!

  • Yea the rednecks have no business here this is a Classic RESPECT it!

  • @armstrong451 Being a redneck or not has nothing to do with liking this kind of music.

Growing up in TN in the 80's/90's in bumville middle of nowhere farm country I loved this music.

  • Decriminalise Cannabis in the UK

    epetitions . direct. gov. uk / petitions / 29

  • @girlhitsbus i agree 100%

  • thumb down for the top comment, thumb up for the comment below.

  • @jordy45678 So i did. Thanks for this good idea

  • What do they mean by "She's in parties" ?

  • @ZOMBIESe115 "In the can" is slang for something being finished - like a scene in a movie that has been deemed successful by a director and therefore is "in the can"....complete. According to an interview w/Peter Murphy, the song is about Marliyn Monroe (who happened to mix pills and alcohol on a regular basis) - I believe this song could refer to her death as being her last performance, and that it is actually her life that is "in the can".

  • @tuobniklat I understand what "in the can" means, but i asked what "she's in parties" means.

  • @ZOMBIESe115 Monroe was an actress, therefore she was in parties, part=role. Like her dying is another role, a part in a movie she plays, just this time it's for real - in the can.

  • soooo simple video, yet sooo kool ,,,, now adays they make a BS mini movie of a music vid and still suck ,,,

  • The lyrical content is very similar to Joy Division's Shadowplay. Hehe goth is back look at the hits! Now I can live in my black heaven.(Other type of lyrical reference.)

  • Saw Peter Murphy @ the Pantages in Hollywood back in 89 or 90. Can't remember

  • great stuff

  • woaaaah just look all those suggestions on the right !!!!!!!!!!!! better than this does'nt exist

  • I dont like options that youtube give us for reactions--------there should be- great, awesome, stratospheric and sumthin like dat?

  • May goth rock live forever.

  • Gotta love 1:00-1:20

  • 106 people have the music taste of a retared carrot it seems and should be removed from this world

  • before goth we were Alternative.

  • @Hot80s- Before Goth we were actually referred as "Positive Punks" which the music was originally Post-Punk, then developed into Gothic Rock.

  • I'm a big redneck looking fuck and I like Bauhaus. Labels! Image! Lame!!!

  • @birddogbull You're awesome. Labels suck. Though I have to admit, from here in texas I always judge rednecks, even when I know it's wrong to judge, because I assume they're all homophobic people. you just proved that's not entirely true. People need to look beyond the exterior of a person more. :(

  • @birddogbull Doesnt matter how you look, just matters if you feel the music or not. Apparently. I say that because I dont, not really. I like it though.

  • @SymonDymond Actually, why do people get called red necks? What is a redneck anyway? I have never met a chap with a red neck anywhere. I suspect a coloquialism is at work here but damned if I can work out what it is.

  • @SymonDymond A redneck was a term used to discribe farmers who because of their hard work in the field had sunburned skin on the backs of their necks. The term was uses proudly by miners who use to wear red bandanas around their necks to signify union membership. But now it's been turned into an offensive slang term. It is used to describe " bigoted, loutish and opposed to modern ways, and southern white conservatives and racists"

  • @RebekahDementia Thankyou. I have always wondered about that.

  • @birddogbull I'm a tiny fifteen-year-old girl and when I say Bauhaus is one of my favorite groups I get the strangest reactions. Agreed.

  • @OMGitsFay thats cool girl you got good taste i doubt that alot of young people know who thay are leave alone older people we are 40 and 44 and still love em' :~}

  • @OMGitsFay wow you are so unique

  • @birddogbull Well, sir if you are in fact down with the goths then we should call a truce, For years Goths in my town have been getting messed with by rednecks...We should all just come together as brothers and sisters..spread the word The hate needs to end. R.I.P Sophie Lancaster.

  • All Hail the Gothic Kings

  • love this

  • One of the songs I must live by, swear, by, eat by, sleep by... music is life and this is music (the real kind) therefore this is life.

  • @MCRhasAFireInside

  • @CelticIrishGothGirl that's sorta what i'm saying lol! the only bands people consider goth today are evanescence, slipknot, marilin manson.... and maybe a few others. (i know some goths listen to MM but i don't consider him goth) ya know?
