Being gay is no more a choice than being heterosexual is. No one chooses what gender t they are born to be attracted to. How my marriage to another man will affect heterosexuals marriages (or anyone for that matter) is beyond me. And if it does, then that relationship was nothing to begin with.
What harm would it do homosexual couples if the definition of marriage stayed the same as it has been for thousands of years? None? Exactly right.
Unless you say they won't "feel" good about it. Okay. I won't "feel" good about having the government endorsing a small minority's sexual behavior as normal. And since I'm in the vast majority, I'd rather you "feel" bad than I.

@octopibingo its not about feeling bad, its about having the same rights and privileges as everyone else. Currently you can marry the person you love, legally have the right to visit them in the hospital and share legal responsibilities towards each other. Not allowing us the same rights as you dose harm us, its not about feeling bad and you feeling bad about me marring the woman I love is a non factor in determining if I should have the right to do so.
@octopibingo The problem is if there's a different title there's a tendency towards discrimination. I don't care much about the NAME for a gay union as opposed to a straight one, but it's like the seperate but equal plan. A system that discriminates/seperates two groups tends to build inequalities between those two.
The big problem is gays having equal rights in their union, and frankly that matters a lot more than the definition of a word.
Did you know that if we allow gay marriage that means that all straight marriage is going to be null and void, yup the gays will make it to where only they can get married. We must be afraid of the Rainbow Agenda! They are terrorists terrorizing marriage which is suppose to be an emotionla loving time when two people get married, man and woman, whetehr they were forced into it, or just want a big celebration that has nothing to do with love, thats the american dream and institution of marriage
@nowknowthis It is hilarious how epically retarded your statement is. I have no idea what the fuck is a "Rainbow Agenda" is. Terrorizing marriage? How is that done? It is called protesting inequality. You say marriage between a man and woman is "The American Dream"? That dream is not the same for everyone.
@cundcund Ok so just in case you are not clear, i was trolling, i thought it was an obvious one, considering none of my facts were correct, and my level of intolernace was off the charts, and th statements i made were ridiculous and stupid something no smart person would say. My comment was made to mock those who are against Gay marriage and show them how stupid they really are. Sorry for the confusion.

So... Any particular heterosexual marriage will not be harmed by same-gender marriage equality. No straight married couple is going to say "Damn, gays can get married now, so our marriage is worthless and meaningless, let's get divorced and give up all the rights, benefits, privileges, responsibilities, obligations, and protections of marriage for ourselves and our children".
However, straight couples IN THE FUTURE will decide not to get married because gays can?
Gay couples have been getting married for several years now. Everything still seems to be in order. This ambiguously religious bullshit that ruins lives is what gets me tossing the phrase "anti-theist" into my daily vocabulary.
Then I suppose we'll have to adjust our agenda to something that WILL harm heterosexual couples. Wait. I'm being told right now that our agenda does not include harming anyone. My mistake.
That's like saying -- we're not suggesting that the legislation would harm any "particular" business -- we're just saying that it would harm "Business" in general -- in years to come. Down the road. Without actually harming any actual, particular business, specifically. In particular. They'll all be fine. But in general -- they'll be harmed. Eventually.
i think its just lawyer speak for 'i have really no idea why i'm even defending these idiots but i am getting a lot of money for it i may as well make up a half baked statement of waffle!' basically!
@caotico9 You expected him to? The majority of the anti-gay marriage arguments are based on a religious belief. Which, of course, has no place in a secular matter such as what marriage is in our country.

What is a good enough argument against marriage equality...? This question doesn't speak for my beliefs against the legalization though.
