i can say that this car is way better than the BLM model, the smooth ride, handling and torque is there. the fuel consumption can hit 490 KM at a speed of 100 km/h.

the CVT accelerates faster than normal auto actually. your mind says 'its slow' because you can't see the gear change like in a normal automatic/manual car, and most of the time the CVT normally tries to maintain a certain rpm range (not near the redline) for efficiency/good power band.
if you want power, get the manual Getrag gearbox version. or upcoming 1.6L FLX. or even the Neo R3. or the new sedan with turbocharged Campro next year.
haiz..why are many of you like to judge something without using or driving this flx??shame on you..from my experience, saga flx's acceleration is much more faster than in the video above..the driver had not put on full throttle..when full throttle, 0-100 will be less that 10sec..and the acceleration from 0-top speed is great eventhough with full of passanger..moreover, the fuel consumption is very low..fast yet consume less fuel..try out the flx today..regards..

Just Brought saga (E) 1.3 FLX CVT last week....dun know is engine sound or fan sound outside the car abit loud..but sit in inside hear nothing......any one any idea?and behind window can't full open.....

I'm might wrong, since there is no solid statement from Proton stating how CVT would perform. Can't rely on this video too much, better test drive it yourself.
hi paultan. i do understand how CVT is works. but i still confused about certain thing. i always drive at 110-120.. if i want to get a rush, i push paddle at full & get an impressive kick (gear 4 change to gear 3).
but if i at 140.. i push paddle at full, the gear wont change automatically to gear 3 anymore, so no sudden kick at this speed.what i do is, i change manually, and get really good pick up. i can drive up to 170 with this gear 3.
Is that possible with CVT (to get kick at 140 above)?
@crazieeonline Hi there, you sure that it is possible to achieve 170km/h? Because after watching a few videos, 170km/h seems rather high. The videos shows that with the 6500rpm redline, 3rd gear max out at 140km/h.
The Exora have near identical ratios, so despite it's 7000rpm redline, probably 150km/h will be max.
Usually a gearbox will not kickdown to a lower gear when it decides that it will either ruin the engine and itself (gearbox) or it will be running out of rev soon (0.5-1k remaining)
yup i am very sure i did this many times. usually if on 'D', gear 3 will go up to 140 only then change to gear 4.
usually at this speed, 140-150, someone cucuk2 me, then i change them to gear 3, i can feel sudden kick.. i drove gear 3 sometimes up to 170-180. many times before.
If i drive CVT, if at speed of 140-150, if is possible for me to get sudden kick as well?

However, for the Saga FLX, I think the kickdown will still be there accompanied by the increased engine noise and speed but there won't be a jerk which a normal 4-speed auto will have even with SAT button swithed on.
Let's say you are cruising at 140km/h (at 4k rpm), then you 'pedal to the metal', so the rev will climb up to probably 6k rpm, but since there aren't any actual cogs to swap, there won't be any jerk.
