good job. ONe thing I might try to do is breathe for the singers. The choir can do it without you having to put breath phrasing in there but it really helps the congragation. Also you should try holding a low D in the pedal for the first 2 lines or so it makes it sound very cool. Good job!
Improvisation is irresistible for a natural musician. Bach was censured by church officials for "unseemly improvisations on our sacred tunes". Today he is remembered; they are forgotten. Have fun! You're doing great.
HI! Great job! One thing that I think you might fix for this Christmas is the part when it is "and Heaven and Nature sing..." There are supposed to be more eigth notes ( 1 more i think) on the pedal part. Great job!
Ah, yes! Whenever I hear this at Midnight Mass, my leaps with joy. It's like my heart is telling me, "Christmas is finally here! Christ is born! Glorify Him!"
Se te nota por dias que mejoras en todo, dominas los nervios mejor, y se ve que tienes una buena base de estudio de organo.Te sigo viendo desde Malaga España. Un cordial saludo de este Organro Moonnew1990
You are amazingly talented!! I would love to know some more about that instrument. At first glance, I was expecting average..and then you started to play. Keep up the good work, and good luck in college :-)
DUDE!!!!!!!! That was like SWEET!!!!!!!!! That sends chills down ones spine....Very nice...I am from Wisconsin and I'll have to see if I can shoot over that way this X-Mas to check this stuff out.....Very nice....Keep up the good work.....
Sam! Another great video! Would love to see if you can make a video if you ever play "God of Our Fathers" or "You Are Mine" if you are playing those songs for Mass this summer! Great job on the pedals here! My method was resting my right foot on the expression pedal, and only using my left foot hitting the pedals when I used the church organ. Also, I will ask our church organist if she ever is "cleaning her files" I will have her save the music and I will see if I can mail it all to U!
That would be wonderful! Thank you for the wonderful comment! Actually, God of Our Fathers is one of my favorite songs. I am doing summer research in Bioanalytical Chemistry right now and haven't had much time for playing this summer sadly. I will try to post a few videos though before I go back to school:)
This is really cool. I like the improv at the beginning. One suggestion would be to make the beginning a bit longer so people get a feel of the tempo that the organist wishes to take. It sets up for a much better relationship between the Organist and the assembly!
Actually, I had not. But I definitely hear it now. Since the beginning of the hymn is basically a fancy D scale, I tried to do a D scale with a little flair for the end.
Glad to see your new postings! Your playing is getting really good--keep with it! Nice pedal work on this hymn. Also, this is one of the best sounding small Wicks I've heard. The church I grew up in had a two-manual Wicks from the 1940s (7 ranks!) and was a dull and dreary sounding organ. It was revoiced in the 90s, and at least the string (salicional & celeste) sound really good. The rest sounds better. Keep serving the Lord through your ministry!
Merry Christmas (Belated). Thanks for sharing, I slept through all 3 services at my church yesterday (first Sunday after Christmas) due to a high school holiday gathering the night before, got home really late I missed some great hymns according to my mom. At least I was at church to sing Christmas Eve.

Did you realize that the last few descending notes in the pedal are actually the end of the hymn "A mighty fortress"? :o)
