I just wanted to ask, do you often use the stone brick blocks? They often feature heavily in my builds however after watching what your doing I'm feeling that I'm being influenced by Minecrafts natural blocky-ness (mainly symetrical constructs with plenty of straight lines) and the squarish pattern of the stone blocks reflects this, making it harder to create any sort of asymmetrical flow.
@MichaelW4x I use what I need to for a project - but avoid using too much of any material in general without splitting it up, either with 3d effects, or with designs inset to what you are doing. If you don't do either of those things - your projects generally will end up looking blocky no matter what material you're using.
has anyone ever tried adding redpower to the voxelbox? just for the sake of the chunks of blocks. it allows for amazing things, and a lot of fine detailing, and I believe you can install it without the extra circuitry and trees and such, with just the extra blocks.
mcKupo dont u realize that feather likes u i mean i may not be dr. love but it is very clear that he does i mean y else would he take ur bossy behavior jkjkjkjkjkjk but he does like u
@mckupo thats what i love about you, supportive and informative as usual...such a fantastic channel. i wont quit mc, its addictive. i just got to stop looking for perfection and go with the flow.
i have watched all 8 episodes hoping to get inspiration but all you guys have done is make me realise how rubbish i am at minecraft! ...keep it up, ill still watch (i might just never play MC again) lol
@tazbecks nonono, that's not what we're going for! trust me, I started off as an *ok* builder when I joined the voxelbox, and I'm CONSTANTLY learning right now still. don't be afraid to do a project if you're not going to do it perfect, just be able to recognize when you CAN improve things, and with that you will get better yourself!
o kupo for drawers on default it may not look the best but you can use a sign skip to the 2nd line space towards the center of the sign then put an "O" and it looks like a drawer again it may not look the best but its drawers on default =)
@mcKupo I built my first organix yesterday. I built a rat (don't know why I chose a rat) and I was wondering how I could show it to you, and if you would be willing to take a look. I really need some advice, but since I can't seem to get past greylist on the VoxelBox, I can't show off my work... A reply would make my day :) -Jibby_von_HaHa
Have you guys heard of Tekkit? Some builder friends and myself are having a lot of success with that robust server mod (made by the technic pack folks). It adds an awesome collection of detail blocks (such as half steps for every block type you desired in this vid) like strips, corners, etc. =) Took us a few minutes to set up a modded client using Minecraft Profile manager. It makes it easy to swap between versions so you can have multiple folders for default, tekkit, etc.) Hope you enjoy!
@mcKupo Oh drat, my mistake sorry! For some reason I thought you two played on more than just the voxelbox server (I'm a new fan!) Well, I still enjoy watching and learning from your vanilla creations - especially the architectural design and decorating videos. Hopeful and eager to see more of your designers podcasts in the future. =)
I'd love to see you build a medieval-styled seaside town because you can really combine different styles in it and it can really be very colourful and bright or also moody and grey
I want half grass blocks, or grass stairs. I just feel that its much harder to make gental hilly climbs with a full block of grass.. It looks so unnatural, albeit its minecraft everything looks unnatural, its bloody cubes, but I wouldn't mind a few more half blocks here and there.
Still this looks amazing reminds me of the multiplay map you done, not an easy task with default textures.
I think a small town would fit, with a feature build, an organic, a resturant another style of house, shopes roads, etc. That would give us a lot of insight.
i want to see an original mega build. i think that would be really educational and fun to watch. You have way more creativity than i do so i think you should just improvise!
yeah that's a really nice house but its the pain in the ass if you can't fly

The best house I made was made out of only stuff you craft with wood only (signs counted)
And torches

@Vaylia while that would be nice - we play on the voxelbox, so no modded clients etc, we just have to be patient with what they give us.
