No sign of a god, before, during or after, natural disastres B) The absolute absence of favoritism towards believers. Even chruches need lightning-rods to protect them from god. @tallliza hey. i just want to share something with you i read today in devotions. this is Colossians 2:8 "see that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human traditions and basic principles of this world rather then Christ". i actually just got off the phone with my friend who says theres no God. If you really opened your eyes and your heart and seek to study the bible you would have answers to all that you question. Seriously. God isn't just something to believe in. He is real. He is living. @tallliza I used to be a non-believer after seeing all the hypocrisy in churches and things like you say. However, I became a believer and truly understood who God really is. It's above religion, above everything 'earthly'. As C.S Lewis said: "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." You need to have an open heart to study the bible, rather than 'cherry pick' verses that fit your theory. Be blessed talliza

@tallliza Then I'm wondering, what would you consider 'universal values'? I mean, would you say that Man is supposed to hate and kill each other? Do you think anarchy is the way to go nowadays? I'm curious to know what makes you think 'values' in the Bible are not relevant to today's era? It couldn't be more relevant if you ask me. Every human has this longing for something beyond this world. All earthly things are finite, but God provides us with real meaning on what we pursue and who we are.

What was good and evil at the dawn of humanity must still be good and evil for all eternity, The bible, god`s(supposed) word regulates evil( E.G.slavery). It is evident that the bible therefore, can never be gods word. It is a man-made concoction

@tallliza You are right. God hates sin and that's why He wants us to know what is good for our own sake. We are His family, but how can He save us if we ourselves decide to follow our own ways? Also, the word 'regulate' is a strong word. Has slavery been abolished in the whole world? No it hasn't, but the fact there are moral laws given by God, it allowed believers to be encouraged by His word, and make it what we have today, though not perfect.

@Sotenn Look it up man, look up all the verses about slavery and you will see that the bible regulates slavery, unless you start changing the meaning of... regulate... That slavery still exists today is besides the point, every evil still exists, but is not regulated in the bible. Adultery is condemned in the bible, but not slavery.

Why, because it was common , acceptable practice in biblical times.

@tallliza In the new testament in colossians 2:16, we are reminded how we are not restricted by food regulations unlike the old laws put on jews in the old testament . In 1 timothy 4, we're again reminded that all food are good. In galatians 3, we're taught how obeying old laws as a mean to salvation or 'be right with God' is rebuking what Jesus has done for us on the cross, andthat would be saying that His sacrifice meant nothing and that we need to work towards our salvation.

@tallliza ...until everything is accomplished, meaning that the laws have been abolished after He died for our sin on the cross; which goes back to what Paul says in galatians 3:10-14 about people following the Law.

@tallliza I'm in no position to judge which interpretation is 'definitely' right, but I believe that Jesus didn't add 'until everything is accomplished' for nothing. You are free to believe what you think is right, and in fact so am I! I just pray that God can really shine the real truth in my life, and that's really all that matters to me. :) As for slavery, maybe it hasn't been clearly 'abolished', but from my understanding, the slavery stated in the Bible is strictly based on mutual respect.

Just answer the question if you can... why your god makes the innocent suffer, or allows their suffering ?
