haha My cat loves it on my shoulder xD he even walks around outside with me...! But i dont see what the big fuss is about xD i just one day didnt want to carry him so i set him on my shoulder and i guess he stayed :[...i get stares though...Imagin a girl wearing all black with a long gothic like skirt walking around town with a black cat on her shoulders .-. :x

Just about every cat ive had has done that to me i think it more or less depends how much you carry them around as kittens. The cat i have now will take any chance she can to leap on me..If im at the stove she leaps from the counter if im on the computer she does a running jump. If i let her she will stay on me four hours and just sleep. -_-

Well, as long as I'm not the only one! One of my kittens, Shadow (well, she's not a kitten anymore - she's 1 year old on April 28th) LOVES to sit on my shoulder. I could be sitting anywhere - usually at the computer, and she just jumps right on up. She even does it from the floor right to my shoulder occasionally. That one is the one that usually hurts. I don't know why she loves it so much, but she's done it since she was little - she trained herself, lol. Cute kitties!

When my cat was a kitten i'd put her on my shoulder, five years later she still tries to climb up there when I pick her up.

Haha, I just found this video because my cat sits on my shoulders all the time and I wanted to see if I could find another cat that does it. The difference is, I didn't have to train him to do it - it's just something he's always done since he was a kitten. He LOVES it and it's pretty cool - except for when he jumps on your shoulders when you're totally not expecting it. He also has a habit of doing it when I get out of the shower...which tends to suck because his claws dig into me.

my cat does that.. but she acts more like a scarf laying across and falling asleep.. she freakin cries to get on me and will leap great distances to get at me. my cat be ruthless with it.

my cat looks just like yours and it has been riding on my shoulder since he was a baby, her sits on my shoulder at home, when in the car, walking for hours, and i dont have long hair, he stands up switches shoulders and hangs down on my belly, mine is better than yours, i even take him to the shopping plaza and he walks with me even through crouds!

I have a turkish angora who looks remarkably like Shiro. She doesn't ride around on my shoulder, but she loves to jump onto my back and climb up for a brief perch. If I lean forward, she'll sit on my back and ride around forever (or at least, a few minutes).

I think it's something about the breed. I've heard other Turkish Angora owners call them "high cats" because they love to perch as high up as possible.
