OK, we get it--goats don't lay eggs! You guys who have pointed this out have demonstrated your exacting attention to detail and aptitude for profundity, and your lack of imagination and perspicacity.
I agree with THesevi101 comment. Most of you with goat and egg question are dumb, and spook dude is the one who should have a bomb dropped on his house. (dumnut who commented below)
wow... you guys are really mature.... You really thought they were talking about the goats when he mentioned the eggs? These people are trying to make the world a better place for everyone, and its people like sooperklew (someone who commented below) who are making the world a worse place.
Name one poor community that has been lifted out of poverty by goats and not an increase of FDI, improved governmental instutitions and the addition of property rights. I dare you to name one.
Unless you provide other food and an additional goat, this project simply gives you a goat that either starves to death or is butchered for food. Additionally, if the entire community eventually receives livestock, everyone will have the same wares and none of it will be economically valuable in such a case.
While goats have a reputation of getting out of even the best of fences and being aggressive, they also have their good attributes. The acreage to raise goats is not as extensive as that needed to raise cattle. Goats can also keep brushy areas cleared.
Heifer works with many communities that raise goats for these benefits. With proper training in feeding, pens and fencing, the positive return to limited resource families is tremendous.
This is the worst idea ever. Every culture that raises goats lives in a desert because the goats destroy all the vegetation. You'd do better buying bombs
Excellent! I've wanted to Embed a Message for Heifer on my Ministry Myspace Page Thank You. This Embodies one of the Basic Teachings of our Denomination. Besides I'm a Goat Herder and it Resonates in my Heart. God Bless and Keep You Hun.
I FUCKING LOVE HEIFERS!!!!!

Heifer International also gives ducks and chicks. That's why eggs were mentioned.
