How far can you fly this thing without losing signal ?

Much further than you'd be able to see it. It wouldn't even be a dot.

Typical range is a few thousand feet which again, given the scale of the model makes it look really small.

@plentiner Actually he probably asked it because some people own land and fly by FPV cam. There's nothing wrong with flying around your own property with a first person view cam and goggles. Of course you don't want to use a gas model for that (even though some do) because a crash and burn is always possible.

Nice, seen a really huge cameraship turbine heli, rotors had to be 6 feet long each. Pilot was wearing a flak jacket, thinking it would protect him, if the thing went down and blades or other hit him. They were putting together a prototype cameraship supposedly for gov't contract.
